    摘要: A hair-conditioning resin composition prepared by modifying a copolymer resin with a zwitterionizing agent is described, said copolymer resin being prepared by copolymerizing in a hydrophilic solvent a polymerizable mixture containing(A) 65-90% by weight of a polymerizable vinyl monomer having the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sub.2 represents an alkylene group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and A represents an oxygen atom or an NH group,(B) 10-35% by weight of polymerizable vinyl monomers having the general formula (II) ##STR2## wherein R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R.sub.6 represents a saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having from 12 to 24 carbon atoms, and(C) 0-25% by weight of other polymerizable vinyl monomers, said zwitterionizing agent having the general formula (III)XR.sub.7 COOB (III) wherein R.sub.7 represents an alkylene group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X represents a bromine, chlorine or iodine atom, and B represents an alkali metal ion, an ammonium salt or an amine salt.The hair-conditioning resin compositions of the present invention have satisfactory cosmetic properties such as voluminousness, combing-out, softening, moderately moistening, and wavesetting.

    摘要: New, highly effective cationic sizing agents for paper have been provided. They can be obtained by a method in which a water-soluble cationic chemically pure terpolymer compound consisting of(a) 7-40% by weight of N,N-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate and/or methacrylate,(b) 40-80% by weight of styrene and(c) 4-40% by weight of acrylonitrileis dissolved in an aqueous medium, the sum of the components (a) to (c) always being 100% by weight and at least 10% of the N,N-dimethylamino groups of the terpolymer being quaternized and the remainder being protonated, and, in the presence of 10 to 70% by weight, relative to the monomer mixture below, of this emulsifier,(d) 0 to 90% by weight of acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile,(e) 5 to 95% by weight of styrene and(f) 5 to 95% by weight of acrylates and/or methacrylates having 1 to 12 C atoms in the alcohol radical,the sum of the components (d) to (f) always being 100% by weight, are emulsified, and the emulsion thus obtained is subjected to free radical-initiated emulsion polymerization at temperatures from 20.degree. to 150.degree. C.

    摘要: A heat developable light-sensitive material is described, comprising a polymer containing as a constituent a repeating unit represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; L represents a divalent connecting group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; M represents a cation and x represents a number which is the same as the charge number of the cation represented by M.The polymer containing the repeating unit represented by formula (I) is a base precursor which is stable at normal temperature, but rapidly decomposes to release a base by heating; therefore, the heat developable light-sensitive material containing the base precursor has excellent preservability and provides images having good image quality, i.e., low fog density and high image density, upon a short period of developing time.

    摘要: Insoluble polymer powders which are only slightly swellable and are based on N-vinylpyrrolidone are prepared by polymerization of N-vinylpyrrolidone or a mixture of this with copolymerizable monomers and from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers, of a crosslinking agent in a powder bed in the presence of a heat-transfer medium, which is inert to the reactants, and in the absence of oxygen and polymerization initiators, at from 90.degree. to 220.degree. C., while maintaining the powder state, circulating the reaction mass and evaporating the heat-transfer medium from the polymerization zone. The resulting insoluble polymers which are only slightly swellable are used as adsorbents or formulation assistants for fertilizers and crop protection agents.
