摘要: A method for forming an ophthalmic lens including providing a mold assembly including base and front curve molds each having a surface profile and defining and enclosing a cavity therebetween having a reactive monomer mixture for making the lens and a first polymerization initiator that is activated at a first wavelength. A light transmissive one of the molds is exposed to a source of substantially uniform actinic radiation at the first wavelength according to a predetermined exposure pattern including at least one exposure portion and at least one non-exposure portion to initiate polymerization of the reactive monomer mixture within the mold at said at least one exposure portion. The lens is fully cured at the exposure portions and unreacted or non-gelled portions remain within the lens adjacent to the front and base mold halves, which are extracted following removal from the mold assembly, leaving one or more predetermined geometric indentations in the front and back surfaces of the lens such that the surface profile of the lens deviates from the surface profile of the respective front and back mold halves at the locations of the geometric indentations.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to advanced polishing pads with tunable chemical, material and structural properties, and new methods of manufacturing the same. According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, it has been discovered that a polishing pad with improved properties may be produced by an additive manufacturing process, such as a three-dimensional (3D) printing process. Embodiments of the present disclosure thus may provide an advanced polishing pad that has discrete features and geometries, formed from at least two different materials that include functional polymers, functional oligomers, reactive diluents, addition polymer precursor compounds, catalysts, and curing agents. For example, the advanced polishing pad may be formed from a plurality of polymeric layers, by the automated sequential deposition of at least one polymer precursor composition followed by at least one curing step, wherein each layer may represent at least one polymer composition, and/or regions of different compositions. Embodiments of the disclosure further provide a polishing pad with polymeric layers that may be interpenetrating polymer networks.

摘要: Present invention is related to a microwave and electromagnetic heated foaming method, mold and foaming material thereof. The microwave and electromagnetic heated foaming method comprises steps of adding a foam material into a mold, simultaneously applying a microwave and electromagnetic energy toward the mold under a normal or low pressure, and the microwave and electromagnetic energy made the foam material into molded foam body. The mold of the present invention has a microwave penetrating part and an electromagnetic heating part. The microwave penetrating part has an extruded bottom that is corresponded to a dented top of the electromagnetic heat penetrating part. By utilizing the microwave and electromagnetic energy, the present invention is about to provide an efficient way for processing the foaming material compared to the conventional infrared or electrical heated tube heating and achieve the foam method that can be executed under normal or low pressure.

摘要: A method of selectively combining particulate material, comprising: (i) providing a layer of particulate material to a part bed; (ii) providing radiation to sinter a portion of the material of the layer; (iii) providing a further layer of particulate material overlying the prior layer of particulate material including the previously sintered portion of material; (iv) providing radiation to sinter a further portion of the material within the overlying further layer and to sinter said further portion with the previously sintered portion of material in the prior layer; (v) successively repeating blocks (iii) and (iv) to form a three-dimensional object; and wherein at least some of the layers of particulate material are pre-heated with a heater prior to sintering a portion of the material of the respective layer, the heater being configured to move relative to, and proximate, the particulate material.

摘要: A microwave-induced heating of CNT filled (or coated) polymer composites for enhancing inter-bead diffusive bonding of fused filament fabricated parts. The technique incorporates microwave absorbing nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes (CNTs)) onto the surface or throughout the volume of 3D printer polymer filament to increase the inter-bead bond strength following a post microwave irradiation treatment and/or in-situ focused microwave beam during printing. The overall strength of the final 3D printed part will be dramatically increased and the isotropic mechanical properties of fused filament part will approach or exceed conventionally manufactured counterparts.

The device (100) comprises a fabrication platform assembly (7) comprising a fabrication platform (8) and having a first mode in which an orientation of the fabrication platform (8) is adjustable and a second mode in which the orientation of the fabrication platform (8) is fixed, and configured for positioning at the vessel (44) in the second mode to form a layer of the radiation hardenable material when so received between the fabrication platform (8) and a wall (46) of the vessel (44). The device (100) comprises a radiation source (48) arranged to illuminate the layer of radiation hardenable material when so formed to form one of a plurality of layers of the object. The device (100) comprises a guide (28) configured to receive the fabrication platform assembly (7) in the first mode and orientate the fabrication platform (8) when so received with respect to the guide (28). Also disclosed herein is a method for making an object.

摘要: Provided is a method of forming a three-dimensional object, which may include the steps of: (a) providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface, the carrier and the build surface defining a build region therebetween; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid that comprises a reactive blocked monomer and/or prepolymer comprising a self-polymerizing monomer and/or prepolymer blocked with a light-polymerizable blocking group; (c) irradiating the build region with light through said optically transparent member to form a solid polymer scaffold from the reactive blocked monomer and/or prepolymer and also advancing the carrier away from the build surface to form a three-dimensional intermediate; and then (d) heating and/or microwave irradiating, the three-dimensional intermediate sufficiently to degrade the scaffold and regenerate the monomer and/or prepolymer in de-blocked form, which monomer and/or prepolymer in turn self-polymerize, to form said three-dimensional object.

摘要: A method and apparatus for the additive manufacturing of three-dimensional objects are disclosed. Two or more materials are extruded simultaneously as a composite, with at least one material in liquid form and at least one material in a solid continuous strand completely encased within the liquid material. A means of curing the liquid material after extrusion hardens the composite. A part is constructed using a series of extruded composite paths. The strand material within the composite contains specific chemical, mechanical, or electrical characteristics that instill the object with enhanced capabilities not possible with only one material.
