摘要: The present disclosure is directed to lubrication systems for gear systems of a gas turbine engine. In one embodiment, a lubrication system includes an auxiliary reservoir configured to store lubricant and a lubrication collection device. The auxiliary reservoir is contained within an annular structure of the gas turbine engine. The lubricant collection device can collect lubricant from a gear system of the gas turbine engine and direct collected lubricant to the auxiliary reservoir. The auxiliary reservoir is configured to receive collected lubricant by way of a channel within the annular structure. The lubrication system may compliment a main lubrication system, and in particular, when the main lubrication system is temporarily unable to supply lubricant to the gear system.

摘要: Provided is a lubricant feed mechanism for a turbocharger, the mechanism that can reduce work of an oil pump while preventing an excessive supply of lubricant to a bearing part. The lubricant feed mechanism for a turbocharger, the mechanism of feeding lubricant to a bearing part that rotatably supports a shaft connecting a compressor wheel and a turbine wheel, includes: an oil supply passage that guides the lubricant fed under pressure from the oil pump to the bearing part; and a flow control valve provided to the oil supply passage for adjusting the amount of the lubricant by throttling the flow passage of the lubricant based on a pressure of the lubricant flowing through the oil supply passage.

摘要: An oil tank fitted to a turbomachine, for example an aeroplane turbo-jet engine. The tank includes an inner chamber containing the oil of the turbomachine, a wall with an inner surface surrounding the inner chamber, and a capacitive device for measuring the oil level. The device includes at least one electrode and potentially two parallel electrodes forming the inner surface. These electrodes are immersed in the oil to measure the oil level by measuring capacitance. A method for manufacturing a tank in which the electrodes are printed on the wall.

At least a first axial end of the intermediate gear includes a first fluid storage trap for capturing fluid entering and/or exiting the gear passage and storing the fluid therein during powered operation of the fan drive gear system. The fluid is capable of being passively supplied to the intermediate gear passage during an interrupted power event.

摘要: A geared architecture includes a carrier that has spaced apart walls with circumferentially spaced mounts that interconnect the walls. The mounts provide circumferentially spaced apart apertures between the mounts at an outer circumference of the carrier. A sun gear and intermediate gears are arranged about and intermesh with the sun gear. The intermediate gears are supported by the carrier. The intermediate gears extend through the apertures to intermesh with a ring gear. A baffle is supported relative to the carrier and includes a lubrication passage near at least one of the sun gear and intermediate gears for directing a lubricant on the at least one of the sun gear and intermediate gears. The lubrication passage includes a primary passage that extends laterally between the walls and first and second passages and is in communication with the primary passage and respectively terminates near the sun gear and intermediate gears.

A rotating structure includes a ring gear that has an aperture that is axially aligned with the annular channel. Axially spaced apart walls extend radially outward relative to the rotating structure to define a passageway. The passageway is arranged radially between and axially aligned with the aperture and the annular channel. The walls are configured to inhibit an axial flow of an oil passing from the aperture toward the annular channel.

The lubricant flow regulation device is configured to drain lubricant from the lubricated component to the lubricant source based on when the lubricant pump provides lubricant to the lubricated component, and to prevent drainage of lubricant from the lubricated component to the lubricant source based on when the lubricant pump stops providing lubricant to the lubricated component.

When a virtual line extending vertically downward from a rotational center CL of the rotational shaft is defined as a reference line VL in a state where an oil discharge port is orientated downward, the lubricant oil guide member extends from the reference line VL along the circumference direction toward each of one side and another side of the reference line VL over a predetermined angle θ about the rotational center CL of the rotational shaft.

摘要: A gas turbine engine includes a fan and a first drive shaft connected to the fan. A fan drive gear box connects the first drive shaft to a second drive shaft and is configured to allow the first drive shaft to rotate at a different speed than the second drive shaft. The gas turbine engine also includes a sprag clutch disposed circumferentially around the first shaft and connected to the first drive shaft. The sprag clutch is configured to allow rotation of the first drive shaft and the fan in a first direction while prohibiting rotation of the fan and the first drive shaft in a second direction.
