Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for transmitting signaling information in a digital broadcast system, the method comprising the steps of: adaptively generating a signaling table relating to signaling information transmitted from a data link layer on the basis of at least one structure among a hierarchical structure and a flat structure on the basis of a characteristic of service configuration; and transmitting the generated signaling table.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of transmitting/receiving a packet in a system are provided. The method includes dividing each symbol corresponding to each row of a two-dimensional array having a predetermined symbol size (T) as a width into a predetermined number (m) of regions, sequentially arranging source packets to be transmitted, starting from a first column of a first row of the two-dimensional array, setting a remaining part of a region in which last data of a source packet is allocated in a last row in which the source packet is arranged to a predetermined value, arranging a next source packet, starting from a starting point of a region next to the region in which the last data is allocated in the last row in which the source packet is arranged, constructing a source block by arranging all of the source packets in the two-dimensional array, FEC-encoding the source block, and transmitting the FEC-encoded source block.
Abstract:
A method for encoding a packet in a broadcasting system supporting an Internet Protocol (IP)-based multimedia service is provided. The method includes dividing a data stream into data payloads, generating a Motion Picture Expert Group (MPEG) Media Transport (MMT) packet by adding a first header to each of the data payloads, and generating a source packet by adding an MMT packet header to the MMT packet and performing Forward Error Correction (FEC) encoding on the header-added MMT packet. The MMT packet header includes type information of the MMT packet.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for encoding, transmitting, and receiving signaling information in a broadcasting/communication system are provided. The method includes generating the signaling information which comprises a plurality of pieces; determining a number of coded blocks to which the signaling information is to be encoded, based on a number of bits of the signaling information and a number of encoder input information bit; segmenting each piece of the signaling information based on the number of the coded blocks; constructing input information bits of each coded block to include segmented parts of each piece of the signaling information; encoding the input information bits to each coded block; and transmitting each coded block.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving a packet in a broadcasting and communication system are provided. The method includes splitting a source packet block including source packets into a plurality of source packet subblocks, converting the source packet subblocks to source symbol subblocks, respectively, generating a plurality of first repair symbol blocks by encoding the source packet subblocks using a first error correction code, configuring an error correction source packet by adding a source error correction payload IDentifier (ID) to source symbols included in the source symbol subblocks and configuring an error correction repair packet by adding a repair error correction payload ID to repair symbols included in the first repair symbol subblocks, and transmitting the error correction source packet and the error correction repair packet.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving a packet in a broadcasting and communication system are provided. The method and apparatus allows a receiver to recognize data in a packet lost due to data loss occurring in a network. To this end, Forward Error Correction (FEC) control-related information is generated, a packet including the generated FEC control-related information is generated, and the packet is transmitted. The FEC control-related information includes at least one of FEC configuration-related information and FEC encoding configuration-related information.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting data. A codeword is generated by encoding an information word. Parity bits of the codeword are grouped into a plurality of groups. The parity bits are interleaved according to a predetermined order. One or more of the interleaved parity bits are punctured to generate a punctured codeword. A frame including a portion of the punctured codeword is transmitted.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting a packet in a communication system is provided. The method includes dividing a data stream into data payloads of a predetermined size and adding a common header to each of the data payloads, to generate a source payload, adding a first Forward Error Correction (FEC) payload Identifier (ID) to the source payload and applying an FEC code thereto, to generate an FEC source packet for a source payload, adding a second FEC payload ID to at least one parity payload and applying an FEC code thereto, to generate an FEC parity packet for the at least one parity payload, and transmitting the FEC source packet and the FEC parity packet.
