Abstract: Techniques for detecting incidents in an environment and configuring messages for sending to devices in the environment are described herein. A telecommunications network can implement a computing device to receive sensor data from one or more sensors and/or vehicle data from one or more vehicles for identifying an occurrence of an incident in the environment. The computing device can generate unique messages for sending to various devices and/or vehicles in the environment to mitigate an impact of the incident. The computing device can configure messages based on a distance of the device or the vehicle from the incident. The messages can include a suggested action for a user of a device and/or the vehicle to use to avoid or reduce the impact of the incident.

Abstract: A service for providing messaging extension apps can be an online store that can be browsed and searched for the apps. The store uses extension app identifiers which are related to app identifiers that are sent between devices in a conversation of messages so that a receiving device can, when it does not have the extension app installed to interact with received content, use the extension app identifier to download and install the required extension app. In one embodiment, the download and install can occur while the messaging app remains the foreground app, and the messaging app adds an icon of the newly installed extension app into a browsable tray in the UI of the messaging app.

The first mobile device establishes a connection with a decentralized ad-hoc mesh network via the second mobile device. Abstract: A base station receives an alert indicating a geofenced area, and determines whether its coverage area is completely within the area. If so, the base station generates/sends a wireless emergency alert (WEA) to user equipment in the coverage area that does not indicate the area. Otherwise, the base station generates/sends a WEA that indicates the area. The base station sends action messages that indicate a periodicity and end time for the user equipment to determine whether its location is within the geofenced area, a lack of service time limit and lack of service action for the user equipment to perform after it has been without cellular service for the lack of service time limit, a lack of location time limit and lack of location action for the user equipment to perform if its location cannot be determined for the lack of location time limit, and/or that the WEA has ended.

Abstract: Security techniques for device assisted services are provided. In some embodiments, secure service measurement and/or control execution partition is provided. In some embodiments, implementing a service profile executed at least in part in a secure execution environment of a processor of a communications device for assisting control of the communications device use of a service on a wireless network, in which the service profile includes a plurality of service policy settings, and wherein the service profile is associated with a service plan that provides for access to the service on the wireless network; monitoring use of the service based on the service profile; and verifying the use of the service based on the monitored use of the service.
