摘要: Solid organic waste is processed into a suitable feedstock that can be mixed with sewage for anaerobic digestion. The processing of the solid organic waste initially transforms the solid organic waste into a uniform biomass. The uniform biomass is then subjected to hydrolysis and volatile acid fermentation to dissolve the soluble compounds leaving a small residual solid component. The liquid in which the soluble compounds are dissolved is then mixed with sewage in an anaerobic digester to produce biogas including methane. The residual solid component can be composted.

摘要: Waste material is screened to produce unders and overs, the overs are treated to produce a partially hydrolyzed biomass, and the partially hydrolyzed biomass and the unders are anaerobically digested. Treating the overs includes fermenting and mixing the overs with an aerotolerant anaerobic bacteria in a controlled environment, such as a rotating drum, while air is passed through the controlled environment. The moisture content, pH, and biological content of the overs can be adjusted before the overs are treated. Volatile fatty acids from the air passed through the controlled environment can be collected for anaerobic digestion or can be recirculated back into the controlled environment. The cleansed air can also be recycled back into the controlled environment.

摘要: A method for the biological processing of organic substances and more particularly for anaerobic biological hydrolysis for subsequent biomethanization, with pH value control, in the case of which the dissolved and/or undissolved organic substances supplied to a first reactor are at least subjected to slight acidification in such reactor, the major part of the undissolved, at least partly acidified organic substances taken from the first reactor are supplied to a second reactor for the performance of at least one solids hydrolysis step and the main part of the dissolved, at least partly acidified organic substances from the first reactor and from the second reactor are supplied to a third reactor for the performance of at least one methanization step.

摘要: A rotatable digester drum for convening organic waste material into compost which has internally disposed along its longitudinal axis a series of spaced-apart baffles, each baffle having a variable cross sectional area ranging from 60 to 100% of the cross sectional area of the drum and arranged with respect to one another when in the partially open mode to cause material and air introduced into the drum to traverse a non-linear path through the drum, the drum having a plurality of longitudinally extending internal ribs arranged in spaced array around its circumference.
