    Abstract: There is provided an organic waste processing device comprising: an organic matter-receiving container defining an organic matter-receiving chamber; a gas-propelling unit; a gas-plenum chamber in gas communication with the gas-propelling unit; and a grinding assembly at least partially contained in the organic matter-receiving chamber. The grinding assembly comprises a drive shaft and a rotatable blade assembly including a blade support sleeve mounted to the drive shaft and being engaged in rotation therewith. The rotatable blade assembly further includes at least one blade mounted to the blade support sleeve. An inner surface of the blade support sleeve is spaced-apart from an outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft to define a gas flow channel extending longitudinally into the griding assembly and providing gas communication between the gas-plenum chamber and the organic matter-receiving chamber.

    Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for assisting hygienization of organic waste. The apparatus comprises at least one reception means for receiving organic solid matter and organic waste, mixing means for mixing the organic waste and the organic solid matter together into an organic mixture, selecting means for selecting whether to expose the organic mixture in the mixing means to either: aeration in order to create a homogenized and internally oxygenous organic mixture, thereby accelerating the hygienization of the organic mixture, or a heat treatment, wherein the heat treatment performs the hygienization of the organic mixture, or to neither the aeration nor the heat treatment. The mixing means may then expose the organic mixture to the aeration, or to the heat treatment, or to neither of the aeration nor the heat treatment on the basis of the selection. The apparatus may further comprise delivery means for passing the organic mixture to either aerobic biodegradation or an end user.

    Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for incinerating waste, wherein the waste is one or more of an organic waste and an inorganic waste. The apparatus includes a grinder for grinding a mixture of the waste and calcium carbonate. The ground mixture is then fed to a molten metal bath contained within a crucible. Thereafter, a heating member configured proximal to the crucible combusts the mixture of the waste and the calcium carbonate to form one or more of slag and one or more acidic gases. On combustion, the one or more acidic gases are neutralized by calcium hydroxide produced as a result of combusting the calcium carbonate. Additional metal compounds usable as fertilizers are also produced in response to reacting with the one or more acidic gases.

    Abstract: A process of treating organic waste such as food wastes for anaerobic digestion including preparing a waste-slurry from organic waste such as food wastes, transferring the organic waste-slurry to a paddle pulper/finisher, processing the waste-slurry in the paddle pulper/finisher which reduces the particle size of the solids in the waste slurry and separates the waste slurry into a pulp slurry and pomace, and processing the pulp slurry in an anaerobic digester for the production of methane gas fertilizer and soil amendments. In a further process, the organic waste is slurried by dumping the organic waste in a slurry tank, adding a liquid and mechanically mixing the organic waste and liquid until consistent slurry is attained. In a still further process, the slurry from the slurry tank is processed by forming a macerator-slurry in an inline macerator unit which removes heavy solids and cuts other solids into smaller sizes which can be transferred by a slurry pump.
