Abstract: A fuel injection pump (100) provided in a diesel engine, including: an electromagnetic spill valve (20) configured to adjust a fuel injection amount by releasing a pressurized fuel with opening/closing of a spill valve body (23); and an ECU (Engine Control Unit, 50) configured to form a current waveform of drive current of the electromagnetic spill valve (20). The ECU (50), during the warm state, detects a valve-close timing of the electromagnetic spill valve (20), forms an optimum current waveform of drive current based on the detected valve-close timing, and applies drive current with thus formed optimum current waveform to the electromagnetic spill valve (20), whereas, during the cold state, the ECU (50) applies only drive current with a pre-set current waveform to the electromagnetic spill valve (20).

Abstract: This disclosure includes engines that are capable of controlling an air-fuel ratio responsive to rapid changes in the calorific value of a fuel gas. Some engines include an A/F valve, a solenoid valve, and a control unit configured to close the A/F valve when an average opening degree of the solenoid valve is lower than a preset target opening degree, and open the A/F valve when the average opening degree is equal to or higher than the target opening degree. In some engines, when the opening degree of the solenoid valve has been an upper limit opening degree or a lower limit opening degree of the solenoid valve over a predetermined number of times, the control unit is configured to compare with the upper or lower limit opening degree, in lieu of the average opening degree, against the target opening degree to open or close the A/F valve.

Abstract: A diesel engine including: a cam shaft driven by a crankshaft, a fuel injection pump driving cam provided on the cam shaft and configured to drive a fuel injection pump, and an intake cam provided on the cam shaft and configured to drive an intake valve. The fuel injection pump driving cam has a maximum radius portion, a minimum radius portion, an intermediate portion having a radius smaller than that of the maximum radius portion and larger than that of the minimum radius portion, and a slant portion where the intermediate portion shifts to the minimum radius portion in a reverse rotation direction of the driving cam. The position where the intermediate portion shifts to the slant portion begins after the intake valve is opened to an extent corresponding to at least half of a maximum lift of the intake valve.

Abstract: A work vehicle such as a tractor including an engine and a fan shroud. The engine includes a diesel particulate filter (DPF) for purifying exhaust gas. The fan shroud is disposed ahead of the engine. The DPF includes a soot filter for collecting PM (particulate matter) in exhaust gas. The engine further includes a pressure difference sensor for detecting a pressure difference between an upstream side and a downstream side of the soot filter of the DPF in a direction in which exhaust gas flows. The pressure difference sensor is supported by the fan shroud.
