Abstract: A modular, weight-shift controlled watercraft device is disclosed which includes: a modular board removably attachable to a power system. The power system includes a modular power supply system, and a modular propulsion system. The power supply system includes a housing including a battery. The propulsion system includes a modular strut, a modular propulsion pod, and a modular hydrofoil. In one embodiment, the power supply system is removably and mechanically attachable directly to the propulsion system.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus, method and system for utilizing commercial cargo containers. The present invention utilizes containers made autonomous by coupling a container with a detachable propulsion system, having a motor and navigation and steering controls, permitting the rapid, controlled, efficient and safe delivery of cargo containers individually by water. Ballast units, deployment systems and control via remote units are also disclosed. The containers, utilizing their inherent buoyancy, can move autonomously according to a preplanned or remote controlled route to a specific location.

Abstract: The present invention provides a hetero-stiffness robotic device with a central body portion having a head end and a tail end. A rigid rotatable head propeller extends from the head end while a flexible rotatable tail propeller extends from the tail end. A head motor positioned in the central body portion rotates the rigid rotatable head propeller and a tail motor positioned in the central body portion rotates the flexible rotatable tail propeller. A controller independently controls a rotational speed of the head motor and the tail motor. The head and tail propellers may have helical shapes. The hetero-stiffness propulsion gives the robotic device a high level of environmental adaptivity over a wide range of viscosities. The device demonstrates advantages in linearity, straightness, bi-directional locomotion ability, and efficiency, which provides a critical competence for moving in low Reynolds number environments.

Abstract: A boat includes a planing hull, a propeller, a main rudder, and a pair of flanking rudders. The planing hull has port and starboard sides, a transom, a hull bottom, and a centerline running down the middle of the boat, halfway between the port and starboard sides. The propeller is positioned forward of the transom and beneath the hull bottom. The main rudder is positioned aft of the propeller. The main rudder has a rotation axis about which the main rudder rotates. The flanking rudders are positioned forward of the propeller. One of the flanking rudders is positioned on the port side of the centerline, and the other flanking rudder is positioned on the starboard side of the centerline.

Abstract: A vehicle includes: a power source; a first drive device configured to be driven by an output of the power source; a second drive device configured to be driven by the output of the power source; a non-stage transmission device capable of continuously changing a rotation speed which is transmitted to an input shaft of the second drive device; a power distribution device coupled to an output shaft of the power source, coupled to an input shaft of the first drive device and an input shaft of the non-stage transmission device, and configured to be capable of distributing the output of the power source to the first drive device and the second drive device in a state where the output shaft of the power source is coupled to the input shaft of the first drive device and the input shaft of the non-stage transmission device at respective predetermined fixed reduction ratios; a first instruction device configured to output a first instruction value related to a rotation speed of the input shaft of the first drive device; a second instruction device configured to output a second instruction value related to a torque of the input shaft of the second drive device; and a control device configured to be capable of controlling the output of the power source and a transmission ratio of the non-stage transmission device. The control device includes: an output control part configured to control an output of the power source in accordance with the first instruction value outputted from the first instruction device; and a transmission control part configured to control the transmission ratio of the non-stage transmission device in accordance with the second instruction value outputted from the second instruction device.

Abstract: Disclosed are modular floating platforms configured to be joined together to form a cover over surfaces of natural and artificial bodies of water and other liquids, for reducing evaporation and other purposes. The floating platforms may be motorized and provided with remote control systems, so that the platforms may be assembled together on command to provide uniform coverage of the surface of the body of water. The floating platforms are optionally capable of solar and wind power collection. The platforms are useful for covering mining tailing storage ponds.
