摘要: A watercraft is provided that includes a support platform having a bottom surface. The watercraft includes a hydrofoil disposed on a strut extending from the bottom surface of the support platform. The watercraft includes a propulsion system coupled to the bottom surface of the board such that a thrust generated by the propulsion system moves the board through a body of water. The watercraft includes a position sensor, a speed sensor, and an altitude controller. The position sensor is configured to output position data of the watercraft relative to a surface of water. The speed sensor is configured to output speed data of the watercraft. The altitude controller is configured to adjust the thrust generated by the propulsion system based at least in part on a ride height derived from the position data and a speed derived from the speed data to achieve a target ride height.

摘要: A controller for a watercraft controls first and second marine propulsion devices to start moving the watercraft by setting a first default angle, a second default angle, and a default thrust ratio as a first target rudder angle, a second target rudder angle, and a target thrust ratio respectively when a desired motion of the watercraft is straight sideways movement. The controller determines at least one of a first correcting angle, a second correcting angle, and a correcting thrust ratio to reduce an error between the straight sideways movement of the watercraft and an actual motion of the watercraft. The controller corrects the first target rudder angle, the second target rudder angle, and the target thrust ratio with the first correcting angle, the second correcting angle, and the correcting thrust ratio, respectively. The controller repeatedly detects the error and repeatedly updates the correcting angles and the correcting thrust ratio.

摘要: A thruster system for improved steering and maneuverability of a marine vessel when operating at relatively low, or wakeless speeds, such as in the vicinity of docks, swimmers or other obstacles, or when trailering, beaching or mooring. The thruster system has a modularized design adapted to independently control separate motor/propeller units located at various positions on the vessel's hull. Each propeller of the modular thruster motor system has its own relatively small, electric motor and mounting bracket, permitting each motor to be separately mounted to a location on the hull of the marine vessel apart from other thruster motors. The thruster system is further enhanced by an electrical control system for controlling each modular thruster motor system of the thruster system. In some embodiments, a charging system is provided that permits each electrical control system to be separately charged from the marine vessel's main battery.

摘要: A marine propulsion system for marine vessel includes at least one battery configured to power a vessel load, a plurality of marine drives, and a control system. Each of the plurality of marine drives includes an engine, an alternator driven by the engine to charge the battery, and a propulsor selectively driven by the engine to propel the marine vessel. Each of the plurality of marine drives is configured to operate in a propulsion mode in which the engine is operated to rotate the propulsor to propel the marine vessel in a generator mode in which the engine is operated to charge the battery while the marine vessel remains stationary. The control system is configured to select a subset of the plurality of marine drives and then to operate the subset of marine drives in the generator mode to charge the battery while the marine vessel remains stationary.
