Abstract: There is provided a method of operating at least one network unit in a wireless communication system, wherein the wireless communication system comprises a first network unit and a second network unit that are both connected to a third network unit using a first connection, between the first network unit and the third network unit, and using a second connection, between the second network unit and the third network unit, wherein packets comprising the same information are transmitted over both the first connection and the second connection. The method comprises the first network unit receiving information from the third network unit indicating packets received by the third network unit from the first network unit over the first connection, and transmitting an indication to the second network unit enabling removal of packets from one or more transmission buffers of the second network unit corresponding to the indicated packets received by the third network unit from the first network unit over the first connection.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure can include, for example, obtaining a first number of channel-encoded codewords based on a first group of transport blocks, and identifying a first logical codeword based on the first group of channel-encoded codewords and associated with one HARQ identifier. The first logical codeword is associated with multiple layers of a MIMO system to obtain a logical codeword mapping. A receiver detects the MIMO signal and obtains independent error detection results for each of the channel-encoded codewords. In response to detecting an error in one of the channel-encoded codewords, a modified first logical codeword is generated based on the one channel-encoded codeword and mapped to the number of layers of the MIMO s system for transmission to the receiver for further processing associated with the HARQ identifier. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a first user equipment (UE), a second UE and methods thereof for reliable group transmissions. The group includes multiple UEs transmitting the same Hybrid Automatic Repeat request (HARQ), buffer data packets to a network node. The method in the first UE includes receiving a predetermined number of Non ACKnowledgments (NACKs), performing a checksum calculation on the HARQ buffer, receiving a computed checksum from a second UE acting as a coordinator of the group; comparing the calculated checksum with the received computed checksum and stopping/refraining from further transmission of the HARQ buffer data to the network node when the calculated checksum and the received computed checksum differ.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for acknowledge mode data (AMD) re-segmentation are disclosed. An AMD protocol data unit (PDU) is generated from at least one RLC SDU. The AMD PDU size is within a flexible maximum AMD PDU size. The original AMD PDU is stored in a retransmission buffer, and transmitted. If transmission of the original AMD PDU fails and the original AMD PDU size is larger than an updated maximum AMD PDU size, the original AMD PDU is segmented to segmented AMD PDUs. If transmission of one of the segmented AMD PDUs fails, the original AMD PDU may be re-segmented to smaller size AMD PDUs.

Abstract: Various aspects are described herein. In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a method for communicating in a wireless communication network. The method includes transmitting a message. The method further includes receiving a control protocol data unit (PDU) including a payload, the payload including an acknowledgement service data unit (SDU) of the transmitted message, in response to transmitting the message. The method further includes processing the control PDU at a lower layer based on a priority of the control PDU, wherein the priority of the control PDU is above a priority of data PDUs. The method further includes determining, based on the processing of the control PDU at the lower layer, that the payload of the control PDU includes an acknowledgement SDU. The method further includes forwarding the acknowledgement SDU to a higher layer, bypassing the lower layer. The method further includes processing the acknowledgment SDU at the higher layer.

Abstract: A system and method for information delivery with multiple point transmission are provided. A method for detecting lost packets is provided. The method includes initiating a timer for a received packet at a receiving transmission point, where the timer is set according to a time value associated with the received packet. The method also includes determining that a delivery of the received packet has failed according to the timer elapsing, and transmitting a lost packet report to a primary transmission point that distributed the received packet to the receiving transmission point.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a wireless device operating in dual connectivity with a first and second network node performs a method comprising establishing an uplink radio connection from the wireless device to the first and second network nodes. The wireless device comprises first MAC and RLC modules for uplink radio communication with the first network node, second MAC and RLC modules for uplink radio communication with the second network node, and a PDCP module for communicating with the first and second RLC modules. The method further comprises communicating data for uplink transmission from the PDCP module to the first RLC module; obtaining an indication to switch transmission of uplink data from the first network node to the second network node; resetting the first RLC module and the first MAC module; and communicating data for uplink transmission from the PDCP module to the second RLC module.
