    摘要: A pressure release device for an internally pressurized fluid container has a dome-shaped inwardly concave closure element circumferentially joined to one end of the tubular container side wall. The closure element is deep drawn of tempered steel, with a circular central area spaced from an annular outer area by an annular intermediate area traversed by radially extending L/u/ ders Lines. A tab member is located in the central area. The tab member is partially circumscribed by a single weakened circular line of reduced material thickness, with the ends of the line being separated by a connecting area of substantially undisturbed material thickness and strength. The closure element has a structural integrity which reacts to an increase in fluid pressure in the container above a prescribed level by undergoing at least a partial eversion extending from the annular outer area, across the annular intermediate area into the circular central area to initiate a fracture of the closure element along the weakened line of reduced material thickness. The connecting area remains intact during any resulting outward deflection of the tab member occasioned by fluid escaping from the container through the fracture.

    摘要: A pressure relief device is disclosed for a container having a cylindrical side wall which is closed at one end by an internally concave bottom wall. The device comprises an externally protruding first cup formed as an impression in the container bottom wall. The first cup has a first circular wall which is joined at one end to the container bottom wall and which is closed at the opposite end by a first base portion; A tab member is located in the first base portion. The tab member is partially circumscribed by a line of reduced material thickness along which the first base portion is adapted to separate in response to an overpressurization of the container contents, thus freeing the tab member for outward deflection to provide an outlet through which the contents may escape. A second element having a second circular wall is forcibly received within the first circular wall of the first cup. The second circular wall is dimensioned to coact with the first circular wall to radially stress the first base portion in tension.

    摘要: The aim of the invention is to increase the strength and reliability of a high-pressure container. To achieve this, the high-pressure container comprises a thin-walled, closed, sealed, metal cylindrical liner (1) with at least one neck and at least one outer reinforcement jacket (2) consisting of a composite material that is formed from at least one group of layers of high modulus fiber of a reinforcement material, said fibers being aligned spirally and in an annular direction in relation to the cylindrical liner (1) and having previously determined linear arrangement densities. One layer of fibers of the spiral reinforcement (4) is positioned above a layer of fibers of the annular reinforcement (3). The invention is characterized in that a local predetermined breaking point band is formed in the reinforcement jacket as part of said jacket (2), the band being delimited on the interior by the cylindrical surface of the liner (1) and on the exterior by a concave surface in relation to the liner (1), said concave surface being formed from spiral fibers of the reinforcement material. The linear arrangement density of the fibers of the reinforcement material aligned in an annular direction (3) in the region of the local predetermined breaking point band is less than or equal to 70% of the linear arrangement density of the fibers of the reinforcement material aligned in an annular direction (3) in the remainder of the cylindrical part.

    摘要: An aerosol container (10) dispenses a fluid product under pressure. A pressure relief mechanism (30) vents the container in a controlled manner when the container is subjected to excessive pressure so to prevent the container from bursting. The container has a container body (12) of a hollow, generally cylindrical shape. Pressurized contents of the container are expelled through a valve assembly (18) installed at one end of the container. An end piece (22) attached to the container body at the other end of the container has a first circular shaped section (26) surrounded by a ring shaped outer section (28). The pressure relief mechanism comprises U-shaped score lines (32) formed across the transition between the two sections of the end piece. These score lines create lines of weakness in the material from which the end piece is made for the end piece to fracture along the score lines when the pressure within the container exceeds a predetermined pressure level. This allows the container to vent a controlled manner rather than burst.

Therefore, a gas can be released without blowing off a portion of the can container.
