    摘要: A rupture disk is provided for relieving pressure between the interior of a battery box and the exterior of the battery box, the box having an outlet opening. A first layer provides a gasket which abuts the battery box, the gasket having a central opening which aligns with the battery box opening. A second layer is in the form of a reverse buckling disk having a disk flange, a domed portion and a weakened portion on the dome that defines a disk burst pressure, the second layer having concave and convex sides. A third layer that is an outlet ring that sandwiches the second layer in between the first and the third layer layers, the outlet ring having a central opening surrounded by an edge. A plurality of teeth on the third layer extend from said edge inwardly. A plurality of tabs are provided on the first and third layers.

Additionally, a method of relieving pressure in a pressurized system is disclosed, wherein a set of rupture disks is provided, wherein each rupture disk in the set has a different radius of transition area. A rupture disk may be selected from the set and installed based on a burst pressure set by the radius of transition area.

    摘要: An overpressure indicating disk apparatus for indicating an over pressure condition in a pressurized system includes a body having first and second end portions and a bore, the first end portion configured for attachment to the pressurized system and in pressure communication therewith so that the pressure in the bore is the same pressure as the pressure of the pressurized system. A reverse buckling disk having an annular peripheral portion and a concave convex dome portion is provided. The annular peripheral portion surrounds the dome. The disk annular peripheral portion is mounted to the body, closing the bore at the first end portion. An indicating component or ring is affixed to the combination of a body and reverse buckling disk. The indicating ring has an annular peripheral portion that aligns generally with the annular peripheral portion of the reverse buckling rupture disk. A movable central tab portion is mounted inside the indicating component or ring. A hinge connects the central tab portion to the indicating ring. The concave side of the reverse buckling disk faces the central tab. The convex side of the reverse buckling disk faces the pressure inside the bore. When the pressure in the bore exceeds a preselected maximum pressure value, the disk reverses to engage and displace the central tab thereby indicating visually that an overpressure condition exists within the bore.

    摘要: An improved reverse rupture disc for use as a safety pressure relief device is provided. The disc is defined by an annular flat flange region, a concave-convex disc dome region and a transition region that joins the disc-shaped flat flange region to the concave-convex disc dome region. One or more deformations may be formed at or near the apex of the disc dome region for weakening the disc to the point that incidental damage to the disc will not weaken the disc any further, thereby ensuring that the disc will reverse at a certain pressure, and no lower. The disc may also formed with one or more irregular transition regions at the base of the disc and a partial circular groove in the transition region. The irregular transition region of the disc cooperates with a shear enhancing means such as a protrusion or notch formed in a support ring or disc holder disposed downstream of the disc to sever the disc dome from the annular flat flange region along the groove in the transition region. A back pressure support means extends over the transition region and potentially over the dome region to prevent vacuum and forward to reverse cyclical pressures in the convex direction from damaging or destroying the disc. An ungrooved region of the transition region acts as a hinge holding the ruptured disc dome to the flat flange region after the disc has ruptured. The ruptured disc dome hangs over an arcuate projection formed in the support ring or disc holder, which helps to prevent the disc from fragmenting.
