摘要: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus has a first housing including a DOC converter and DPF, and a second housing including an SCR converter, the housings disposed in parallel on the outer side of a frame such that the exhaust upstream ends thereof are positioned on the outer side in the vehicle width direction. An outlet port of the first housing and an inlet port of the second housing are communicatively connected through a communication pipe. The first housing is dividable into a first casing accommodating the DOC converter and a second casing accommodating the DPF, the two casings separably fastened by bolts. The inlet port of the first casing housing is bent inwardly in the width direction and detachably fastened to an exhaust pipe, the distal end of which opens outwardly in the width direction, through bolts. The second casing and housing are fixed to the frame through two brackets.

摘要: An after-treatment system includes a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalyst or a similar aftertreatment unit or brick that may be inserted into the opened end of a sleeve. The aftertreatment brick includes a substrate matrix with catalytic material that extends between a first face and a second face. A mantle is disposed around the substrate matrix and extends between a first rim proximate the first face and a second rim proximate the second face. The mantel may include a overhang extension that extends the first rim of the mantle beyond the first face of the substrate matrix. To enable retrieval of the SCR catalyst from the sleeve, a retrieval feature is disposed on a readily accessible, inner surface of the overhang extension.

摘要: Disclosed is a muffler assembly including: a) polymeric housing having an interior surface and at least one opening for at least one inlet and one outlet exhaust pipe; b) at least one metal inlet exhaust pipe and at least one metal outlet exhaust pipe positioned within the openings to provide housing-exhaust pipe interfaces; c) a thermal insulating material coating the interior surface of the polymeric housing and extending through the housing-exhaust pipe interfaces; wherein the thermal insulating material seals the muffler assembly at the housing-exhaust pipe interfaces; and wherein the muffler assembly has a leak rate of 105 Liters/minute or less at 4.5 psig pressure. An optional muffler assembly has body mounting adapters attached to the inlet and outlet exhaust pipes and positioned within the openings to provide housing-body mounting adapter interfaces. Also disclosed are processes for manufacturing the muffler assemblies.

摘要: An exhaust system has one or more exhaust tubes having a first diameter, interfaced to an exhaust manifold at one end and open at an opposite end for exhaust gas to escape, and a tubular extension of a second diameter, larger than the first diameter, joined to the open end of individual ones of the exhaust tubes, the extension cut at an angle with vertical and joined to the exhaust tube in a manner that exhaust gas expanding at the open end is free to expand upward, but expanding downward strikes the tubular extension, creating a downward force on the exhaust system.

摘要: A silencer cover adapts to a heat expansion of a silencer even when, for example, the silencer cover has a large size and is attached to the silencer over an area from the front to the rear. A silencer cover is provided for a silencer connected to a downstream end of an exhaust pipe of an engine. The silencer cover is fixed to a fixing support provided to the silencer. The silencer is heat-expanded with the fixing support part fixed as a base. The fixing support part is provided at a front end portion, in a vehicle front-rear direction, of the silencer. With a tail pipe constituting a rear end portion of the silencer, the rear end portion of the silencer is provided with a slide structure in which the silencer cover is slidably supported.

摘要: An exhaust device includes an exhaust pipe connected at its upstream end to a cylinder head of the engine and an exhaust muffler connected to the downstream end of the exhaust pipe for suppressing the generation of noise from a heat insulating cover that covers a part of the exhaust pipe. A heat insulating cover covers a portion of the exhaust pipe near the engine and a stay is fixed to the heat insulating cover. The stay includes a supporting plate portion curved so as to partially surround the outer circumference of the exhaust pipe. A first vibration isolating member is provided that is sandwiched between the outer circumference of the exhaust pipe and the supporting plate portion, a band member is tightened to mount the supporting plate portion to the exhaust pipe, and a second vibration isolating member is sandwiched between the supporting plate portion and the band member.
