Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The payload size for uplink transmissions of unscheduled control information may vary and, in some cases, may be dynamically determined. A user equipment (UE) may determine a payload size or may select a payload size from a set of predetermined sizes. A base station may independently determine the same payload size or it may blindly detect the payload size upon receiving the uplink (UL) transmission. Or the base station may indicate the payload size to the UE. Additionally, UL grants issued to the UE may take one of several forms (e.g., different downlink control indicator formats), and characteristics of the grant may indicate information about resources assigned by the grant, including a location of the resources among various transmission opportunities or whether the grant is for multiple subframes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may attempt to access a network at a local area network access point without prior context information. The access point may be a hotspot operating in unlicensed spectrum according to a Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based standard. The UE may be unable to determine if it is authorized to access the network, so the UE may attempt to obtain system information that provides a list of service providers supported by the network. The UE may then determine whether it has credentials for a supported service provider, and the UE may access the network using those credentials when a supported service provider is recognized. Other broadcast messages may provide information about system information for supported service providers. A UE that is unable to access the network using stored credentials may attempt access using a random access channel procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may communicate in an unlicensed spectrum (e.g., a shared radio frequency spectrum band). As such, the UE may determine a codebook size for transmitting hybrid access request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) feedback with respect to the unlicensed spectrum. Accordingly, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number of HARQ processes with which the UE has been configured. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a number and/or duration of downlink channel monitoring occasions indicated by the base station. In some cases, the UE may base the HARQ ACK codebook size on a combination of the techniques described herein.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to beam information for independent links. For example, beam information for one link may be sent on at least one other link. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, one link can indicate beam switching for at least one other link. In some scenarios, one link can indicate link recovery for at least one other link. In some scenarios, one link can indicate link failure for at least one other link.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication may include determining a communication operation between a base station and one or more served UEs. The method may further include monitoring for radio frequency (RF) energy on a communication channel at a beginning of a listen before talk (LBT) window of a current frame in a shared spectrum shared between at least one or more opportunistic general authorized users. The method may further include transmitting an LBT trigger signal in response to detection of no RF energy above a minimum energy threshold at the beginning of the LBT window. The method may further include receiving an LBT trigger response signal from the one or more served UEs. The method may also include communicating, by the base station, with the one or more UEs during a channel occupancy time (COT) of the current frame after the LBT window.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program for wireless communication that allows for greater scheduling flexibility of physical resources are disclosed. A UE determines a time division duplex (TDD) frame structure for a plurality of frames, where the plurality of frames include a plurality of uplink (UL) subframes and a plurality of downlink (DL) subframes. The UE determines whether a control signaling instance is scheduled during an UL subframe of the plurality of UL subframes, wherein the control signaling instance is scheduled periodically and the control signaling includes at least one of a random access channel, an uplink control channel, a sounding reference signal (SRS), or a scheduling request (SR). The UE communicates the control signaling instance if the control signaling instance is scheduled during an UL subframe.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a discovery reference signal from a base station on an anchor channel. The UE may perform a first random or pseudorandom frequency hopping procedure to identify a plurality of downlink carriers for a first time period. The UE may perform a second random or pseudorandom frequency hopping procedure within the plurality of downlink carriers to select one of the plurality of downlink carriers as the uplink channel for a second time period. The UE may then transmit an uplink communication during the second time period on the selected uplink channel. In some examples, the uplink communication may be transmitted based at least in part on time division multiplexing (TDM) information.

Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for a base station transmitting an indication of a set of one or more available channels to a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit to the UE a first downlink burst using a first channel and a first frame period. In some cases, the base station may detect interference associated with the first downlink burst, for example, by performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure or through an interference management resources (IMR) procedure in which the base station transmits reference signal signals to the UE that the UE may use to return a report on measured interference. If the base station detects interference, the base station may transmit to the UE an instruction to switch to a second channel and a second frame period, where the second channel may be selected from the set of one or more available channels.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to considering channel variations for medium sharing in a spatial domain are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits one or more reservation response signals indicating spatial channel information in response to a reservation request for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) in a frequency spectrum. The first wireless communication device receives, from a second wireless communication device, a communication signal from a first spatial subspace during the TXOP based on the reservation request. In one embodiment, the first wireless communication device may repeat a transmission of the reservation response signal after transmitting a portion of the communication signal. In another embodiment, the first wireless communication device may include a channel variation parameter in the reservation response signal.
