Abstract: An inbound call connection request may be received from a non-resident, directed to a controlled-environment facility resident and/or the resident's device. A determination may be made that a calling account of the resident does not have sufficient funds to pay for the inbound call, whereupon a message may be provided to the non-resident offering billing options, including at least a wireless carrier billing option, to complete the call connection. The call may be connected with the resident device in response to a determination a calling account of the inmate has sufficient funds to pay for the call or acceptance of one of the payment methods by the non-resident, along with authentication that the non-resident is associated with an address identifier (AID) of the resident device, and verification that the resident operating the device is associated with the AID of the device.

Abstract: The overall performance and power utilization of an audio device may be improved with an adaptive sidetone generation system that generates sidetones optimized for different application-specific problems. In particular, systems that include sidetone generation capabilities may be developed to include numerous microphones from which information may be received and processed to generate optimized sidetones. For example, the information from the microphones may be used to receive and/or determine the audio device's operating mode. The information from the microphones and the received and/or determined mode may then be used to generate a sidetone that is optimized for the particular mode and particular conditions in which the audio device is operating. Through the generation of optimized sidetones, the audio signal quality may be improved, thus reducing the amount of subsequent audio processing required, and resulting in improved performance and power utilization.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a device comprising a processor detects a communication session between a calling device and a called device, and receives a motion signal from the called device; the motion signal is generated at a motion sensor of the called device during or after the communication session. The device analyzes the motion signal to determine whether a portion of the motion signal corresponds to a preselected motion of the called device and whether a subsequent call from the calling device accordingly is to be blocked. Responsive to a determination that the subsequent call is to be blocked, the device also updates a list of blocked caller identifiers associated with the called device to add an identifier associated with the calling device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for assigning call agents to callers is provided. A call from a caller is received into a call center. A voice sample is obtained from the caller during the call and analyzed. Traits of the caller are identified from the analyzed voice sample. A determination that at least one of the identified traits includes characteristics of multiple populations for that trait is made. The identified trait is defined as a percentage of each population included in that trait. The caller traits are compared to traits associated with each active agent within the call center. The agent with the traits most similar to the caller traits is assigned to the caller.

The computer additionally suggests creating or editing contact information associated with the participants of the connected voice or video call based on the transcribed content.
