    Abstract: Examples described herein involve validating motion of a microphone during calibration of a playback device. An example implementation involves a mobile device detecting, via one or more microphones, audio signals emitted from one or more playback devices as part of a calibration process. After the one or more playback devices emit the audio signals, the mobile device determines whether the detected audio signals indicate that sufficient horizontal translation of the mobile device occurred during the calibration process. When the detected audio signals indicate that insufficient horizontal translation occurred, the mobile device displays a prompt to move the mobile device more while the one or more playback devices emit one or more additional audio signals as part of the calibration process. When the detected audio signals indicate that sufficient horizontal translation occurred, the mobile device calibrates the one or more playback devices with a calibration based on the detected audio signals.

    Abstract: A method for designing a loudspeaker excursion estimator comprises measuring an excursion-related parameter for a loudspeaker, for each of a plurality of loudspeaker input signal levels and each of a plurality of loudspeaker input signal frequencies. The method further comprises, for each of the loudspeaker input signal frequencies and based on the measured excursion-related parameters, identifying a respective loudspeaker input signal level corresponding to a target maximum excursion-related parameter value. The method further comprises determining a filter response, based on the identified loudspeaker input signal levels and their respective loudspeaker input signal frequencies, and implementing a filter, based on the calculated filter response, for generating an excursion estimation based on loudspeaker input signal levels.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an audio haptic output apparatus and a home appliance include: a touch panel; a memory storing a plurality of effect data corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs; a processor calling the effect data matched with the touch input through the touch panel from the memory, and generating an audio signal; a speaker amplifier amplifying and outputting a signal based on the audio signal; and an actuator outputting at least one of an audio and a haptic based on the output signal of the speaker amplifier, and the processor or the speaker amplifier converts and outputs the frequency characteristics of the audio signal when the effect data matched with the touch input through the touch panel includes audio data.
