    Abstract: Artificial intelligence directed controlled-environment facility resident support ticket response and/or action may provide access to a controlled-environment facility media and/or communications terminal or device support application program via one or more controlled-environment facility media and/or communications terminals and/or a plurality of personal controlled-environment facility resident media and/or communications devices, which accept input of a support request, via the support application program, from a controlled-environment facility resident. A controlled-environment facility media and/or communications device services platform receives the request, determines an assigned weight of words in the request and selects one or more passages of predefined response text to compose a response to the request, based on a determined weight of words in the request and tags associated with these words and the passage(s) of predefined text. The platform personalizes the response, based on identification of the resident, and sends the resulting personalized response to the respective terminal or device.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an automated cutting tool that is configured to cut open nonuniform enclosures, such as cases containing electronic components. An example system comprises a multi-speed motor that is coupled to a cradle. The multi-speed motor rotates the cradle at a selected speed, and the cradle adapted to hold a case. A cutting head is positioned adjacent to the cradle and is configured to maintain contact with the case during rotation of the multi-speed motor. The multi-speed motor is configured to operate at a first speed when first segments of the case are in contact with the cutting head and to operate at a second speed when second segments of the case are in contact with the cutting head.

    Abstract: A location-based analytics system provides tracking and visualization of individuals within a controlled-environment facility. A plurality of sensors, such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) sensors, are located within the controlled-environment facility and detect individuals located within a first proximity to the sensors. An analytics system determines the identity of individuals detected by the sensors and reports the locations of the identified individuals. A user interface provides the ability to select the display of the location and movement of selected individuals of the identified individuals on a three-dimensional model of the controlled-environment facility. The user interface also provides the ability to select a three-dimensional representation for the selected individuals and various other aspects of the controlled-environment facility. The selected representation of the selected individuals is projected onto the three-dimensional model of the controlled-environment facility at locations corresponding to the reported locations of the selected individuals within the facility.

The platform monitors controlled-environment facility resident call volume, recognizes an average call volume and detects an increase in call volume above the average call volume or a decrease in call volume below the average call volume. The platform automatically initiates a controlled-environment facility resident calling restriction in response to a detected increase in call volume or automatically initiates an increase in controlled-environment facility resident calling allocation in response to a detected decrease in call volume below the average call volume. An inbound and outbound calling platform assigns a telephone number to each resident and associates a routable (IP) address of each resident communications device with such telephone number. This calling platform also presents an online directory to accessing inbound callers that lists residents the caller is allowed to call, the telephone number(s) of such resident(s), and whether such residents and their communications devices are ready to receive a call. The calling platform reconfirms such information upon an inbound call being placed to a telephone number assigned to a resident and signals the resident communications device associated with the resident assigned that telephone number.     Abstract: Embodiments provide methods and systems for regulating the use of virtual reality environments provided to residents of controlled-environment facilities. In response to a request for virtual reality programs from an inmate, the privilege status of the inmate is used to determine the available virtual environments in which the inmate may participate. The participation of the inmate within a virtual reality session may be restricted based on the privilege status of the inmate. Any limitations on an inmate's participation within an approved virtual environment may be enforced by restricting the behavior of an avatar representing the inmate within the virtual environment. The privilege status of inmates may be used to enforce restrictions that prohibit contact between certain inmates or certain classifications of inmates. The participation of inmates may be restricted and terminated based on a measured physiological responses to the inmate's participation in a virtual environment.
