摘要: A method establishes a vehicle area network on a vehicle having a tractor with a tractor wireless hub, the tractor being connected to a first trailer having a first trailer wireless hub. The method activates the tractor hub and the first trailer wireless hub, and shares credentials between the tractor wireless hub and the first trailer wireless hub in accordance with out of band pairing techniques. Typically, the tractor wireless hub acts as an access point for the vehicle area network but the access point can be centralized by: searching down a length of the vehicle to determine relative locations of the tractor wireless hub, the first trailer wireless hub and the second trailer wireless hub; determining a centrally located hub based on the locations; and establishing the centrally located hub as the access point.

摘要: Systems and methods of aligning removable sensors mounted on a vehicle based upon sensor output of such sensors are described. Sensor output is collected from a removable sensor (e.g., a digital camera), and a representation of such sensor output is generated (e.g., a digital image). The representation of the sensor output is compared against a spatial template (e.g., a digital mask overlaid on the representation) to determine whether external references in the representation align with corresponding reference indicators in the spatial template. When alignment is required, the removable sensor is aligned by one or both of the following until the external references in a representation of sensor data at an updated current location align with the corresponding reference indicators in the spatial template: (i) adjusting the position of the removable sensor on the vehicle or (ii) adjusting the representation of the sensor output to simulate such repositioning.

摘要: An illuminated vehicle component including a substrate; a first coating on the substrate; a second coating on the substrate; and light sources of a first color arranged to project light into the substrate. At least one of the first coating, or the second coating form one or more patterns. Light from the light source is received by the first coating to produce light with a second color that is different from the first color, and received by the second coating to provide light with a third color that is different from the first color and the second color. The pattern formed by the first coating and the second coating is visible when the one or more light sources are illuminated.

摘要: A driving assistance device includes an unable-to-drive state detection unit configured to detect that a driver is in an unable-to-drive state, the unable-to-drive state detection unit being provided in a vehicle, and a stop control unit configured to execute an automatic stop control causing the vehicle to decelerate and stop based on whether the unable-to-drive state is detected by the unable-to-drive state detection unit, wherein the vehicle is provided with an operator configured to operate the vehicle, includes an operation state detection unit configured to detect an operation state of the operator, and cancels the execution of the automatic stop control in a case where the operation state detection unit detects that the operation state of the operator has changed multiple times during transition to the automatic stop control or during the automatic stop control.

摘要: This disclosure is of an inventive low-profile LED headlight apparatus having an elongate light box and a headlight assembly that are synchronized with an integral strobe light assembly, which can be illuminated in a coordinated flash pattern. The headlight assembly has at least one addressable headlight lamp. The strobe light assembly has at least one addressable strobe light. These patterns can include alternating, patterned, or synchronized flash patterns. While strobe/warning lights are commonly incorporated into vehicles as distinct units, integrating them into plow headlights can eliminate the need for separate installation, in addition to allowing for more than one set of flashing lights. This apparatus also includes a controller, in electrical communication with the headlight assembly, and a selectively engageable port on one of the sides of the elongate light box for exhausting atmosphere within the elongate light box.

摘要: The invention relates to a lighting device for a vehicle having at least one lighting channel for generating a holographic light function assigned to this lighting channel by lighting a holographic structure of the lighting channel. Each channel includes a lighting assembly and a coupling-in surface of a light guide body disposed along a main beam direction of the lighting assembly. The lighting device also includes a holographic structure disposed on the coupling-out surface of the light guide body. The coupling-out surface is disposed in a beam path of the coupled-in light beams, so that lighting of the coupling-out surface takes place at an angle which is greater than a critical angle of the total reflection. The invention also relates to a rear light for a vehicle and to a vehicle.

摘要: Various systems and methods are presented regarding utilizing technology onboard a vehicle to minimize road traffic accidents between cyclists and vehicles. A vehicle can be operating in any of an autonomous, partially autonomous, or non-autonomous manner. By utilizing onboard technology/artificial intelligence, the vehicle can detect a cyclist navigating a street proximate to the vehicle, and further determine, if a door of the vehicle was opened, whether a car dooring incident would result involving the cyclist. In response to a determination that a car dooring incident is likely, an onboard system can prevent an occupant from opening a door likely to cause the dooring incident. Accordingly, the vehicle can preemptively adjust available operations to prevent a car dooring incident.
