    摘要: A system that automatically stops an engine when the vehicle is stopped and restarts the engine in response to a predetermined condition is disclosed. The system may generally include an engine and a motor for restarting the engine and driving an auxiliary machine when the engine is stopped, and an electrical power source for supplying electrical power to the motor. The motor may be disposed within a crank pulley housing and configured to be connected to a crankshaft. The motor may restart the engine in response to a predetermined condition. The system may include a gear reduction system for amplifying the torque provided by the motor. The motor may drive an auxiliary machine when the engine is stopped. The engine may drive the auxiliary machine when the engine is operating in drive.

    摘要: A support housing for the fastening of the exhaust gas turbochargers of an internal-combustion engine is provided. The support housing encloses a hollow space which is used for receiving the turbines of the exhaust gas turbochargers while the compressors are situated outside the hollow space. In order to simplify the manufacturing and assembly and to reduce the costs, bearing housings of the exhaust gas turbochargers are integrated in the support housing. The manufacturing and the assembly may also be simplified and rendered less expensive by the fact that the support housing is divided into two symmetrical housing parts along a plane extending through the perpendicular axis in the center of the support housing. In this case, the two housing parts are preferably constructed to be centrically symmetrical with respect to the central perpendicular axis.

    摘要: A power unit for a small vehicle such as a motorcycle embodying a two-cycle, crankcase compression, air/fuel injected engine. Fuel and air pumps are driven by the engine and are positioned inwardly of the outer extremity of a plane defined by the outer face of the clutch of the engine transmission assembly and the adjacent side of the engine. A two speed drive is provided for the air pump of the fuel/air injection system so as to operate the air pump at a higher speed ratio during cranking than during running so as to insure adequate air supply for the engine even during starting.
