A continuous sheet having a three-dimensional pattern providing the optical functions is produced by the use of a release sheet of a curable resin on which the three-dimensional pattern is formed, a change in a surface-gloss of a layer of the release sheet on which the three-dimensional pattern is formed, is not more than 30% in pressing a hot plate heated to 160null C. under a force of 20 kg/cm2 for 3 seconds and the release sheet may be wound in a form of cylinder of not more than 12 inches in diameter. In accordance with the present invention, it is possible to enhance a degree of freedom of processing conditions and thermoplastic resins to be used and to produce a continuous sheet having high performance optical functions efficiently.

Method for laying a band of elastomer of given width and given mean thickness on a receiving surface, comprising a step during the course of which a leader of elastomer band of given length, the neutral fibre of the cross section of which has a non-zero curvature, is extruded through a die, the said leader being supported only by its end positioned on the die side, characterized in that the band is orientated in such a way that the concave side of the said neutral fibre faces away from the orientation of the gravitational field, so as to prevent the leader from collapsing under the effect of gravity.

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a film for a film capacitor in which a film can be prepared by melt extrusion molding in a thin film having a thickness of 10 μm or less and in which a cost can be cut by simplifying a manufacturing step thereof and a film for a film capacitor. It is a method for manufacturing a film for a film capacitor comprising the steps of charging a melt extrusion molding equipment 10 with a molding material 1 to mold a film 20 for a film capacitor by extruding from a dice 12, interposing the above extruded and molded film 20 for a film capacitor between a pressing roll 31 and a metal roll 32 to cool it and winding up the cooled film 20 for a film capacitor having a thickness of 10 μm or less in order on a winding tube 41 of a winding device 40, wherein the molding material 1 is prepared by adding a fluorocarbon resin to a PEI resin having a glass transition point of 200° C. or higher and a dielectric breakdown voltage of 100 V/μm or more; and a uniaxial elongational viscosity of the above molding material 1 is controlled to a range of 6,000 to 20,000 Pa·s.

The invention provides a melt-casting film formation process for a cellulosic resin film, by which thickness unevenness of the cellulosic resin film is suppressed in both the cross-machine direction and machine direction. Consequently the invention can provide a cellulosic resin film having high optical properties. In this process for producing the cellulosic resin film, a resin molten in an extruder (22) is extruded through a die (24) onto a rotating chill roll (28) which chills and solidifies the resin to a film (12′), in which temperature difference in the cross-machine direction of the resin sheet (12) from departing the die (24) to touching the chill roll (28) is regulated within 10° C.

In one embodiment, a method for making a film comprises: heating thermoplastic to above a glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic; passing heated thermoplastic through a die and onto a polished calendaring roll and a resilient calendaring roll, and passing the heated thermoplastic between the polished calendaring roll and the resilient calendaring roll to form the film. The resilient calendaring roll has an average roll surface roughness of about 0.5 μm to about 0.9 μm. A nip pressure between the calendaring rolls is about 100 kPa to about 2,000 kPa. The film has an average film surface roughness of about 0.5 μm to about 0.9 μm, a gloss of less than or equal to about 10, an average stress of less than or equal to about 60 nm, and a stress spread of less than or equal to about 50.

The invention relates to a method for the production of films in the thickness range of 20 ?m 1,000 ?m from thermoplastic plastics by extrusion of the plastic through a broad slot nozzle (4) and polishing of the melt film (5), escaping from the broad slot nozzle in a polishing unit, comprising at least three or four rollers (1, 2, 3), whereby a first roller pair (1, 2) forms a polishing gap for holding the melt film and the melt film is then run behind said polishing unit gap through a subsequent polishing gap or a subsequent pressing gap. The above is characterised in that the ratio of the width of the nozzle gap and the film thickness lies on the range 1:1 to 6:1 and the quotient of the film web speed in the subsequent polishing gap or the subsequent pressing gap divided by the film web speed in the polishing gap formed by the roller pair (1, 2) lies in the range 0.8 to 1.05.
