摘要: The capability to suspend a patient alert relating to a monitored physiologic parameters addresses a need to selectively shut off a patient-alert signal or signals during the time a patient is being treated for an excursion in the parameter. Of course, in general a signal call attention to a patient's a potentially deleterious status or condition for which they should seek medical attention. Once a chronically-implanted monitoring device has detected or provided information about the parameter relative to a desired value, trend, or range and a clinician has been notified and intervened the alert signal is temporarily disabled for a predetermined period. That is, once the notification occurs and alert has served its purpose, the alert mechanism is selectively deactivated while the patient ostensibly begins to gradually correct the monitored physiologic parameter under a caregiver's direction and control. After which time, the alert will reactivate.

摘要: A power generator includes a supporting frame, a generator supported by the supporting frame, and an engine mechanism including an engine driving the generator and a recoil starter for starting the engine via starter cable. The power generator further includes a hand-free starter arrangement which includes a foot pedal movably supported by the supporting frame and a transmission unit coupling a pulling end of the starter cable with the foot pedal to transmit the downward stepping force of the foot pedal to a pulling force of the starter cable. A downward displacement of the foot pedal is corresponding to an operation length of the starter cable to start the engine such that when the foot pedal is depressed, the starter cable is pulled with the operation length to start the engine in a hand-free manner.

摘要: Embodiments of close loop optimization of atrio-ventricular (A-V) delay interval and/or inter-ventricular (V-V) timing are disclosed. An implantable medical device includes a housing that supports a processing means adapted for implantation in a patient. There can be two or more electrodes electrically coupled to the processing means where the two or more electrodes can be used for sensing a patient's cardiac signals, which include a far-field EGM. The processing means can determine a width of a P-wave from the sensed far-field EGM. Also included can be a means for delivering an adapted cardiac pacing therapy based upon the width of the P-wave, including revised A-V delay and/or V-V temporal intervals.

摘要: A structure and method are provided for a conductor line stack of an integrated circuit. The conductor line stack includes a layer of a first material such as heavily doped polysilicon or a metal silicide. A layer of a second material such as a metal is formed over the layer of first material, the layer of second material having an upper portion and a lower portion. A pair of first spacers is disposed on sidewalls of the upper portion, wherein the lower portion has width defined by a combined width of the upper portion and the pair of first spacers. A pair of second spacers is formed on sidewalls of the first spacers, the lower portion and the layer of first material. The conductor line stack structure is well adapted for formation of a borderless bitline contact in contact therewith.

摘要: A fluid status monitoring system for use in implantable cardiac stimulation or monitoring devices is provided for monitoring changes in thoracic fluid content. A fluid status monitor includes excitation pulse generating and control circuitry, and voltage and current measurement and control circuitry for performing a series of cardiac-gated, intra-thoracic impedance measurements. The cardiac-gated measurements are filtered or time-averaged to provide a fluid status impedance value, with respiratory noise removed. Based on comparative analysis of the fluid status impedance value, a clinically relevant trend in fluid status may be tentatively diagnosed and a fluid status response provided. Cross-check intra-thoracic impedance measurements performed using the same or a different excitation pathway and a different measurement pathway than the primary intra-thoracic impedance measurement configuration may be used to verify a tentative diagnosis.

摘要: Techniques for bonding aligned optical parts to a substrate are disclosed. According to one embodiment, one or more wedges are used to fill in gaps between aligned optical parts and a substrate. Using an appropriate material, the wedges are respectively slid in till respective contacts between the aligned optical parts and the wedges are established, a small amount of a bonding agent is then only applied to the respect contacts. As a result, the shrinkage that may be caused by the bonding agent to destabilize the aligned optical parts is minimized and the alignments among the optical parts are preserved and can sustain under very high environmental stresses.
