Abstract: The embodiments provided herein relate to a water purification system and method utilizing a filter cartridge comprising a plurality of filter wafers stacked to form a plurality of channels for unfiltered water to flow through for purification. The water purification system is configured to utilize the exclusion zone phenomenon to separate impurities from water using hydrophilic surfaces and trifurcations to divert pure water from impurities. The filter cartridge comprising a plurality of filter wafers may be received by a water receptacle to provide a low-energy water purification system.

Abstract: A filter structure includes: a filter layer that has air permeability to filter passing gas; an adhesive layer formed of an adhesive on at least a part of one side of the filter layer; and a peelable sheet layer laminated on a surface of the adhesive layer, in which a to-be-cut region is set on the filter layer, and a boundary portion indicating a boundary position between the to-be-cut region and a non-cut region of the filter layer is formed on at least one of the sheet layer and the filter layer. The to-be-cut region is cut off at a position indicated by the boundary portion before mounting on a target object, and therefore, the filter structure can be mounted on the target object while avoiding a portion that does not need to be attached to the target object, or a portion that causes a problem when attached.

Abstract: Filter media including a filtration layer comprising fibers (e.g., synthetic fibers) comprising a flame retardant and related components, systems, and methods associated herewith are provided. In some embodiments, a filtration layer may include a nonwoven web (e.g., wet-laid nonwoven web) comprising fibers including a certain flame retardant that has a relatively low concentration of or is substantially free of certain undesirable and/or toxic components (e.g., halogens). In certain embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of fibers. For instance, in some embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of coarse and fine diameter synthetic fibers that impart beneficial performance properties to the filtration layer. In some embodiments, the filtration layer may be designed to have a desirable flame retardancy (e.g., F1 rating, K1 rating) and performance properties without compromising certain mechanical properties (e.g., pleatability of the media) and/or environmental attributes (e.g., relatively low toxicity). Filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering air, though the media may also be used in other applications.

Abstract: A self-disinfecting antiviral filter material 10 includes an air-permeable carrier 11 and a composite coating 12 including at least one color pigment 13 with antiviral activity and an inorganic matrix material 14 bonded to the carrier 11. The at least one color pigment 13 preferably includes at least one compound from the group of phthalocyanines. The matrix material is preferably selected from the group including metal oxides. An air filter device including the self-disinfecting antiviral filter material, a method of manufacturing the filter material, and a method of inactivating viruses are also described.

Abstract: A method for preparing a porous nano-fiber heterostructure photocatalytic filter screen includes: preparing a noble metal nanostructure with tunable spectra and a heterostructure composite photocatalyst of a photocatalytic material; and preparing a large area and multilayer porous nano-fiber filter screen structure, while utilizing a scattering enhancement effect of metal nanoparticles in an porous optical fiber to realize repeated conduction of sunlight in the optical fiber and finally interact with the composite photocatalyst on a surface to improve photocatalytic efficiency. Preparation of the heterostructure composite photocatalyst with a wide spectral response of and tunable visible to infrared band spectra is realized, at the same time, with reference to high adsorbability, high light transmission of nanometer fiber and unique optical characteristics of metal nanoparticles, an air purification filter screen with a high sunlight utilization rate and a high catalytic degradation capability is creatively provided.
