Further, the filter medium may include a nonwoven sliver formed into a predetermined shape and composed of first synthetic staple fibers having a first denier, second synthetic staple fibers having a second denier, and third synthetic staple fibers having a third denier.

Abstract: The present invention is to a prefilter for affinity chromatography columns. The prefilter, positioned upstream of the column inlet, reduces the presence of non-specific binding (NSB) species that enter the system, thereby extending the yield, capacity and lifetime of the column. Suitable agents include but are not limited to hydrophobic entities; lipophilic entities; activated carbon; charged cation or anion entities; ligands; particles such as fumed silica, glass, controlled pore glass or derivitized version of each; silica or silicates; and combinations thereof. The material(s) can be incorporated into a variety of media such as fibers, beads, membranes and the like and then incorporated into a variety of device designs including lenticular pads, depth filters, bead containing columns, spiral wound devices, TFF devices and the like.

Abstract: A filter material for an air filter may include a substrate layer on an inflow side and a fine-fibre layer on an outflow side relative to a flow direction. The filter material may include a connection region arranged between the substrate layer and the fine-fibre layer. The substrate layer, connection region and fine-fibre layer may include pores having an aggregate degressive pore size with respect to the flow direction. A combined thickness of the substrate layer, connection region and fine-fibre layer may be at least 0.35 mm. The substrate layer may include a cellulose material and have an impregnation of resin disposed along the inflow side. The resin may amount to approximately 22% by mass of the substrate layer.
