Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pool cleaning device having filtering and pumping capabilities. Some embodiments of the disclosed device can be unencumbered by hoses, cables, and the like when in use in the pool. The device may be buoyant and can be configured to float at or just below the surface of the water. The device can comprise a strainer, a pump, a housing for the strainer and pump, and one or more floatation devices. Such a design may allow for a floating skimmer and pump with no need for installation in a side wall. In some embodiments, the device can further comprise a pre-filter. For example, in some embodiments, the strainer and filter can remove large objects and particulates, respectively, before the water passes through the pump. As disclosed in some embodiments, various components of the device may be removeable and replaceable to extend the lifetime of the device.

Abstract: A wastewater treatment system includes a cavity configured to receive a flow of wastewater for treatment. One or more core sheets are arranged within the cavity in a position to be contacted by wastewater entering the cavity. The core sheet has a primary textured surface enhances retention of wastewater fluid received by the unit, which over time causes an increase in build-up of biomatter on the surface, which in turn enhances the efficacy of treatment of the wastewater. One or more sheets of fabric may be used with the core sheet. The cavity may be within an aerobic treatment unit (ATU).

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a nonwoven material including a blend of a first plurality of monocomponent fibers and a second plurality of segmented fibers having segments of a first polymer and segments of a second polymer different from the first polymer, wherein the nonwoven material includes about 75 to about 95% by weight of the monocomponent fibers, and about 5 to about 25% by weight of the segmented fibers, based on the total weight of the nonwoven material, and wherein the segmented fibers are at least partially fibrillated or split. An air filter including the nonwoven material is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a reclamation and recycling process for graphene oxide, a scaffold comprising graphene oxide, a modular graphene oxide-based microbial fluid filter and a filter tool that allows the correct compression pressure of a modular filtration cartridge, and prevents internal leakage along the internal wall of the filter and thus provides correct sealing of the filter. Such modular graphene oxide-based microbial fluid filter does not require a sub-micrometer pore filtering medium, yet has a microbial filtration efficiency of up to 99.99% and the ability to filter particulates while still providing the filtration flow rates of current filters that do not employ a sub-micrometer pore filtering medium.
