    Abstract: The invention relates to a fabric layer, in particular a protective fabric and/or backing fabric, for a corrugated or pleated flat material of a filter element, wherein the flat material comprises a plurality of pleats (17) or corrugations running parallel to one another, which form successive pleat or corrugation peaks (18) and pleat or corrugation troughs (19), which are connected to one another by a pleat flank, wherein a fluid can flow through the flat material, wherein the fabric layer comprises a first fabric region, in particular a first fabric strip (10), and at least one second fabric region, in particular a second fabric strip (11), the threads whereof, in particular weft threads (32), merge into one another, wherein the first fabric region, in particular the first fabric strip (10), comprises a first type of weave and the second fabric region, in particular the second fabric strip (11), a second type of weave, which differs from the first type of weave.

    Abstract: A cylindrical filter element having a central longitudinal axis and filter media including a plurality of radially extending pleats arranged in a pattern that repeats around the central longitudinal axis. Each of the pleats comprises an inner pleat tip, wherein the inner pleat tips of each pattern define an open area that extends along a height of the filter element, and wherein each pattern of pleats comprises a first series of intermediate pleats that descends in length from a major pleat to a minor pleat and a second series of intermediate pleats that ascends in length from the minor pleat to a major pleat of an adjacent pattern of pleats.

    Abstract: A filtration system comprises a housing having a first housing end and a second housing end. The housing defines a central compartment therein. The housing includes an alignment tab disposed on the second housing end. The alignment tab protrudes from the second housing end towards the first housing end. A filter element is positioned within the housing. The filter element includes a first endcap, a second endcap, and filter media positioned between and extending axially between the first endcap and the second endcap. The filter media defines a central opening extending axially therein. An alignment notch is disposed on the second endcap, the alignment notch protruding from the second endcap toward the first endcap.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pool cleaning device having filtering and pumping capabilities. Some embodiments of the disclosed device can be unencumbered by hoses, cables, and the like when in use in the pool. The device may be buoyant and can be configured to float at or just below the surface of the water. The device can comprise a strainer, a pump, a housing for the strainer and pump, and one or more floatation devices. Such a design may allow for a floating skimmer and pump with no need for installation in a side wall. In some embodiments, the device can further comprise a pre-filter. For example, in some embodiments, the strainer and filter can remove large objects and particulates, respectively, before the water passes through the pump. As disclosed in some embodiments, various components of the device may be removeable and replaceable to extend the lifetime of the device.
