摘要： Filter media having a gradient in a property and methods associated with such media are provided. In some embodiments, a filter media may have a gradient in mean pore size. The gradient in mean pore size may be across at least a portion of the thickness of the filter media. In some embodiments, the gradient can be represented by an exponential function. The exponential gradient in mean pore size may impart desirable properties to the filter media including enhanced filtration properties (e.g., relatively high dust holding capacity and efficiency), amongst other benefits. The filter media may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering liquids (e.g., hydraulics, fuel, lube, water), though the media may also be used in other applications.

An inlet tube extends from an inlet and defines an inlet passage into a filter housing. Openings within the inlet tube open into an interior space of a filter housing. An outer housing defines a cavity within which the filter housing is secured. The filter housing includes an open top portion that engages a cap that covers and seals the outer housing. The cap holds the filter housing to prevent movement of the filter housing.

摘要： The two-stage air filter is formed of a nonwoven glass fiber first or inlet filter element and a second or outlet filter element formed of nonwoven fiber. The outlet filter element is preferably formed of either polyester material, or a blend of polyester and cotton fiber material. The first or inlet filter element is coarser than the second or outlet filter element, with the first element serving to capture larger particles while allowing smaller particles to pass therethrough to be captured by the finer second filter element. The two filter elements have a continuous and unbroken, homogeneous interface therebetween, with the attachment of the two filter elements with one another being solely at their mutual peripheries by a peripheral frame. Additional air freshening and cleaning, deodorizing, odor neutralizing, scent applying, fungicidal, bactericidal, and/or germicidal chemicals or materials may be applied to either or both filter elements.

摘要： A filter for removing undesired materials from a fluid, such as used cooking oil, for example, includes a filter envelope including first and second panels. The first panel has a permeability which is greater than that of the second panel. The first panel of the filter envelope may be formed from a filter pad and the second panel from a filter paper, and may enclose a metal spacer grid. When the filter is connected to a pump for drawing the oil through the filter, the flow of the oil is directed selectively through the filter pad, whereby undesired materials are removed from the oil. The filter provides for efficient flow of the oil to be filtered while removing undesired materials therefrom.

摘要： A filter made of specifically arranged filaments. The filter has an upstream side where fluid enters and a downstream side where fluid exits. The filaments are greatest in diameter near the upstream side wherein the filaments continuously and gradually decrease in thickness toward the downstream side. The pores or spaces between the filaments are largest near the upstream side and decrease gradually toward the downstream side. This allows various size particles to become entrained in the filter in an evenly distributed manner.
