Abstract: A system on a chip may include a codec module configured to receive an image including a plurality of first pixel data and output a plurality of second pixel data through a system bus. The codec module comprises at least one (M+N) bit logic circuit including M bit logic and N bit logic. The codec module is configured to operate in a first mode where the (M+N) bit logic circuit performs a dithering operation on the first pixel data of (M+N) bits and generates the second pixel data including at least M bits. The codec module is configured to operate in a second mode where the M-bit logic selectively operates and outputs the second pixel data of M bits.

Abstract: A system is described for maintaining synchrony of operations among a plurality of devices that have independent clocking arrangements. The system includes a task distribution device that distributes tasks to a synchrony group comprising a plurality of devices that are to perform the tasks distributed by the task distribution device in synchrony. The task distribution device distributes each task to the members of the synchrony group over a network. Each task is associated with a time stamp that indicates a time, relative to a clock maintained by the task distribution device, at which the members of the synchrony group are to execute the task. Each member of the synchrony group periodically obtains from the task distribution device an indication of the current time indicated by its clock, determines a time differential between the task distribution device's clock and its respective clock and determines therefrom a time at which, according to its respective clock, the time stamp indicates that it is to execute the task.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling and selecting sources in a room on a network. The system allows a remote viewer to create a virtual presence within the room by providing the available displays, corresponding to the sources, to the remote viewer. The system includes a standardizing technique for improving the communication and overall switching of data for streaming on a network. The system can include a recording server for performing dual recording of the video files in each of a local database and a remote database. A graphical user interface (GUI) display is provided to guide a local user through a medical procedure in the standardized system.

Abstract: A display system includes a conversion apparatus converting video luminance including a luminance value in a first luminance range and a display apparatus connected thereto and displaying the video. The conversion apparatus includes a first acquisition unit, a first luminance converter, a second luminance converter, a quantization converter, and an output unit outputting a third luminance signal to the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a second acquisition unit acquiring the third luminance signal and setting information indicating display settings recommended to the display apparatus in display of the video; a display setting unit setting the display apparatus, using the setting information; a third luminance converter converting a third code value indicated by the third luminance signal into a second luminance value compatible with a second luminance range, using the setting information; and a display controller displaying the video on the display apparatus based on the second luminance value.

Abstract: Techniques are described that allow DVR users to create program shortcuts to different types of media content from content providers. A program shortcut comprises a reference to another media content. A user may generate a shortcut so that the user may easily find and return to media content without performing a new search. In addition, techniques may be used to automatically generate program shortcuts for a user based at least in part to user-indicated preferences or actions. Shortcuts may be generated to media content that is related to a preferred genre or media type specified by a user. Shortcuts may also be generated to content that is determined to be similar to content that is often viewed or recorded by the user.

Abstract: In a high speed image capturing state, a camera signal processing circuit is not needed to perform a signal process at a high screen rate, but at a regular screen rate. In the high speed image capturing mode, raw data of 240 fps received from an image sensor 101 are recorded on a recording device 111 through a conversion processing section 201 and a recording device controlling circuit 210. Raw data that have been decimated and size-converted are supplied to a camera signal processing circuit 203 through a pre-processing circuit 202 and an image being captured is displayed on a display section 112 with a signal for which a camera process has been performed. In a reproducing state, raw data are read from the recording device 111 at a low screen rate according to a display performance of the display section 112 and the raw data that have been read are processed are processed by the pre-processing circuit 202 and the camera signal processing circuit 203 and a reproduced image is displayed by the display section 112.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for processing an image captured with an image sensor, such as a camera. In one embodiment, an estimated ambient light level of the captured image is determined and used to compute an optical-optical transfer function (OOTF) that is used to correct the image to preserve an apparent contrast of the image under the estimated ambient light level in a viewing environment. The estimated ambient light level is determined by scaling pixel values from the image sensor using a function that includes exposure parameters and a camera specific parameter derived from a camera calibration.

Abstract: Method involving: providing an object in the video that at least partially and at least occasionally is presented in frames of a video; detecting the object in the video, wherein said detection comprises detecting feature reference points of the object; tracking the detected object in the video, wherein the tracking comprises creating a mesh that is based on the detected feature reference points of the object and aligning the mesh to the object in each frame; generating a first set of node points on the created mesh based on a request for changing proportions; generating a second set of node points based on the first set of node points; and transforming the frames of the video in such way that the object's proportions are transformed in accordance with the second set of the node points using the mesh.
