摘要: Techniques for preparing an electrocatalyst include growing and immobilizing an earth-abundant metal on an MXene two-dimensional (2D) substrate using a solvothermal, hydrothermal, or electrodeposition process. The earth-abundant metal may include NiFeOOH. The earth-abundant metal may include Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ti, V, Cr, and a combination thereof. The earth-abundant metal may be nanoparticles. The nanoparticles may include multiple metals. The electrocatalyst may be provided for an oxygen evolution reaction. The electrocatalyst may produce a current density of 500-1000 mA/cm2 for at least 20 hours without degradation thereof.

摘要: A free-standing electrode film may comprise an electrode active material and a composite binder comprising polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). An electrode for an energy storage device may comprise a current collector and a film on the current collector, the film including an electrode active material and a composite binder comprising PTFE and PVP. A method of manufacturing a free-standing electrode film may comprise preparing a mixture including an electrode active material and a composite binder, the composite binder comprising PTFE and one or more additional binders selected from the group consisting of PVP, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polyethylene oxide (PEO), and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). The method may further comprise adding a solvent to the mixture, subjecting the mixture to a shear force, and, after the solvent has been added and the mixture has been subjected to the shear force, pressing the mixture into a free-standing film.

The first region includes a region that exists on the first conductive member side relative to a border surface and a first protrusion region that protrudes toward the second conductive member relative to the border surface, and the second region includes a region that exists on the second conductive member side relative to the border surface and a second protrusion region that protrudes toward the first conductive member relative to the border surface.

摘要: Disclosed is an electrolytic direct energy converter (EDEC) having a cell that produces electrical energy based on the dynamics of electrically mobile ions within a gel, fluid or solid state electrolyte that is in electrical contact with a pair of electrodes of the cell. The pair of electrodes are physically separated from one another within an electrolyte such that an electric field is generated therebetween. The motion of the ions in the electrolyte causes more of the positive ions to move to one of the pair of electrodes and more of the negative ions to move to the other one of the pair of electrodes whereby to produce a potential voltage. An external electrical load impedance is electrically connected between the pair of electrodes such that the potential voltage is produced by the cell across the load impedance and a current flows through the load impedance.

In embodiments, the film is further treated with anodization, and in other cases chemical vapor deposition. Films are also provided formed by the disclosed processes. The films are nanoporous on at least a portion of a surface of the films. Also disclosed are electronic devices having the films disclosed, including lithium-ion batteries, storage devices, supercapacitors, electrodes, semiconductors, fuel cells, and/or combinations thereof.

摘要: Provided is an electrode for an electrochemical device that can sufficiently inhibit heat generation in the event of an internal short circuit and reduce IV resistance in an electrochemical device. The electrode mixed material layer contains an electrode active material, a binder, and a foaming agent having a thermal decomposition temperature of 150° C. to 400° C. In a thickness direction cross-section of the electrode mixed material layer, thermally decomposable sites formed of the foaming agent and having a circumscribed circle diameter of 1.0 μm to 10.0 μm are present, and a number A of the thermally decomposable sites per 50 μm2 in a surface region of the electrode mixed material layer is larger than a number B of the thermally decomposable sites per 50 μm2 in a deep region of the electrode mixed material layer.
