摘要: A cholesteric liquid crystal display comprising red, green, and blue cholesteric liquid crystal modules. It further comprises a first thin-film photovoltaic module disposed between the blue and the green cholesteric liquid crystal modules, and a second thin-film photovoltaic module disposed between the green and the first selective light reflection modules. The first thin-film photovoltaic module is partially photo-permeable in which the transmittance of blue light is lower than the transmittance of the other lights. It IS preferably a dye sensitized solar cell module which specifically responsible for harvesting blue light. The second thin-film photovoltaic module is partially photo-permeable in which the transmittance of green light is lower than the transmittance of the other lights. It is preferably a dye sensitized solar cell module which specifically responsible for harvesting green light.

摘要: A controllable light propagation system includes a light guide elongated in a first direction, a controllable liquid crystal (LC) element including an LC material and having a first side adjacent the light guide to define a dynamic interface between the light guide and controllable LC element, and an array of electrodes arranged at different locations along the first direction. The array of electrodes arranged along the first direction are selectively activatable to generate electric fields in the LC material to control a transmissivity of the dynamic interface between the light guide and the controllable LC element, thereby allowing a controlled extraction of light at selected locations along the light guide. An array of optical elements may be provided at a second side of the controllable LC element to deflect or otherwise influence the extracted light, e.g., as a function of the location of the extracted light along the first direction.

摘要: A metal housing includes a printed circuit board, a display panel with an LCD panel, and an FPC that connects the printed circuit board and the LCD panel. An EH power source and an EL power source on the printed circuit board are used to drive pixel electrodes on the LCD panel. A series LC circuit and capacitors are disposed on the printed circuit board, and one end of the series LC circuit is connected to the ground and the other end is connected to power source wiring via the capacitors. The impedance characteristics of the series LC circuit and the capacitors C4 and C5 are set such that the impedance is sufficiently small in a frequency band of predicted ground noise and large in other frequency bands.

Electronic component(s) for operating the electronic display assembly are located within the second airflow pathway.

摘要: A method for controlling an artificial iris comprises: receiving a measurement of light intensity detected by a sensor on or adjacent to the artificial iris; accessing a user-specific profile based on user calibration for determining one or more user-specific thresholds of light intensity of the user-specific profile, wherein the one or more user-specific thresholds are associated with light intensities for triggering a change of light transmittance through the artificial iris; comparing the received measurement of light intensity to the one or more thresholds in the user-specific profile; and determining, based on said comparing, whether to turn on or turn off one or more concentric rings of liquid crystals of the artificial iris for controlling an amount of light transmitted through the artificial iris.

The control unit inputs a bright region voltage to the first region and the second region, and inputs a dark region voltage to the third region during a plurality of operation periods. The bright region voltage differs from the dark region voltage during any of the operation periods.

摘要: To suppress degradation of a transistor. A method for driving a liquid crystal display device has a first period and a second period. In the first period, a first transistor and a second transistor are alternately turned on and off repeatedly, and a third transistor and a fourth transistor are turned off. In the second period, the first transistor and the second transistor are turned off, and the third transistor and the fourth transistor are alternately turned on and off repeatedly. Accordingly, the time during which the transistor is on can be reduced, so that degradation of characteristics of the transistor can be suppressed.
