    摘要: The present invention relates to a compound for N-terminal substitution of polypeptides which is used in sequencing and quantifying amino acids and a method for sequencing and quantifying an amino acid sequence using the same. The method for sequencing and quantifying amino acids in accordance with the present invention leads to a relative quantitative analysis of proteins with very high reliability, and can distinctively discriminate between y-type ions and b-type ions on the MS/MS spectra, providing the means for realization of high-reliability protein identification.

    摘要: Substituted isothiocyanates, such as alkyl isothiocyanates, e.g. ethyl isothiocyanate, are prepared by contacting a reaction admixture formed from an amine, such as a primary amine, and carbon disulfide with gaseous oxygen. The contacting of the reaction admixture with gaseous oxygen is carried out in the presence of a metal, such as manganese (Mn ), iron (Fe ), copper (Cu ), zinc (Zn ), nickel (Ni ) and cobalt (Co ), as an oxidation catalyst. The reaction admixture containing the amine and carbon disulfide might be an aqueous or non-aqueous reaction admixture. In the preparation of the non-aqueous reaction admixture the amine, together with the carbon disulfide employed in the make-up of the reaction admixture includes a nonaqueous, preferably a water-immiscible solvent, such as methylene chloride, benzene or carbon tetrachloride. An embodiment of this invention is indicated by the chemical equation:

The moisture sensitive isothiocyanate compound can be 4-HBITC. The essential oil can be produced from mustard seed, which can comprise a precursor sinalbin and myrosinase enzyme. The mustard seed can be reduced into a powder. Activation of the myrosinase enzyme by using a water solvent and a promoter to form a slurry can be performed, wherein the myrosinase enzyme catalyzes the production of an essential oil comprising an isothiocyanate from the sinalbin precursor.
