摘要: The present invention reports the obtaining of carbonyl compounds and derivatives, through syntheses with high yield and purity, providing anti-humoral active principles with selective antiproliferative properties and anti-metastatic activity.
The present invention refers to the development of new polyfunctional push-pull butadienes and their O and C-prenylated, benzoylated and iodide derivatives, with high electronic conjugation in the lateral chain. These compounds exhibit high anti-tumor selectivity, causing cell death by apoptosis, also show anti-metastatic and non-mutagenic properties in the experimental studies performed.-

摘要: In one aspect, the invention provides a method of promoting a carbon-sulfur bond forming reaction. In certain embodiments, the reaction comprises cross-coupling of a(n) (hetero)aryl halide with a thiol to form the carbon-sulfur bond, wherein the method is promoted by light irradiation in the absence of a photocatalyst. In other embodiments, the cross-coupling reaction can be promoted through visible light irradiation, including sunlight.

摘要: Substituted hydroquinones and quinones and methods of synthesizing such compounds are disclosed herein. The substituted hydroquinones have the formula: while the substituted quinones have the corresponding oxidized structure (1,4-benzoquinones). One, two, three, or all four of R1, R2, R3 and R4 comprise a thioether moiety and a sulfonate moiety, and wherein each R1, R2, R3 and R4 that does not comprise a thioether and a sulfonate moiety sulfonate moiety is independently a hydrogen, an alkyl or an electron withdrawing group. The substituted hydroquinones and quinones are soluble in water, stable in aqueous acid solutions, and have a high reduction potential in the oxidized form. Accordingly, they can be used as redox mediators in emerging technologies, such as in mediated fuel cells or organic-mediator flow batteries.

摘要: Processes for removing carbon disulfide from product streams containing a sulfide compound are performed by contacting the product stream with an alkanolamine and converting the carbon disulfide to a higher boiling point product, thereby reducing or eliminating carbon disulfide from the product stream. Subsequent removal of the higher boiling point product via distillation can lead to a purified sulfide stream with high purity.
