The introducer sheath systems may include a tubular sheath, a hub assembly, and a dilator disposed therein connected to a proximal end of the sheath; the hub assembly including a housing and a hemostatic valve disposed therein; a pressure regulator connected to the hub and in fluid communication with the hemostatic valve; and a sealed chamber defined by the pressure regulator, the chamber having an interior, wherein the interior of the chamber is filled with a gas that is fluidly isolated from the hemostatic valve.

摘要: A sleeved gastrojejunostomy (GJ) tube, according to the present invention, includes an inner cannula or feeding cannula that is housed in a sleeve. This arrangement allows the inner cannula to be replaced easily at the bedside by non-specialists. Traditional methods to insert the sleeved GJ tube are utilized, but in the event of feeding cannula damage or clogs, the inner cannula can be easily removed and a new one can be placed, without the need for fluoroscopy or anesthesia. The use of sleeved GJ tubes will expedite patient care, reduce complications, and decrease healthcare costs. The present invention aims to solve the common issue of a clogged GJ Tube. Clogged GJ tubes lead to emergency room visits, hospital admission, and interventional procedures. The present invention would enable exchanges of a clogged feeding cannula by providers or parents without radiation, sedation, or room time.

摘要: The bite block for endoscopic procedures includes a tubular body, a front plate, a movable surface member and an elastic member. The tubular body has an internal lumen configured to receive an endoscope, and has an upper outer surface and a lower outer surface. The front plate has an upper wall and a lower wall, both connected to the tubular body and the upper wall extending in a first direction and the lower wall extending in a second generally opposite direction. The movable surface member is mounted to one of the upper outer surface and the lower outer surface of the tubular body and is configured to move relative to the tubular body. The elastic member is configured to join the movable surface member and the tubular body. The elastic member exerts a force against movement of the movable surface member in the direction of the tubular body.

摘要: A method is provided including inserting a catheter into a right atrium and advancing a distal portion of the catheter toward a roof of the right atrium. A flexible longitudinal member is deployed from the catheter, such that a deployed portion of the flexible longitudinal member is loop-shaped. The deployed portion of the flexible longitudinal member is brought into contact with a single stabilization site located on the roof of the right atrium, between the roof and an interatrial septum, or on the interatrial septum superior to a fossa ovalis. A needle is deployed from the catheter and brought in contact with a hole site on a surface of the interatrial septum outside the fossa ovalis. A hole is formed through the interatrial septum at the hole site with the needle. The deployed portion of the flexible longitudinal member is withdrawn toward the catheter. Other embodiments are also described.

摘要: A vascular access system includes a catheter assembly having a catheter and a near patient access port. A sensor probe delivery device is coupled to the near patient access port, with the delivery device including a sensing probe assembly having a probe member including one or more sensors and an electrical connector positioned proximally from the probe member. A housing of the delivery device movably receives the sensing probe assembly and includes a detachable portion separable from a remainder of the housing. A lock couples the housing to the near patient access port, and an advancement member may move relative to the housing to move the sensing probe assembly between a first position and a second position, with a distal end of the probe member disposed into or out past the catheter when in the second position to enable measuring of one or more blood-related parameters.

摘要: An intravascular catheter for peri-vascular and/or peri-urethral tissue ablation includes multiple needles advanced through supported guide tubes which expand around a central axis to engage the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the injection an ablative fluid for ablating tissue, and/or nerve fibers in the outer layer or deep to the outer layer of the vessel, or in prostatic tissue. The system may also include a means to limit and/or adjust the depth of penetration of the ablative fluid into and beyond the tissue of the vessel wall. The catheter may also include structures which provide radial and/or lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes expand uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened injection needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall. A method can involve injection/infusion of the ablative fluid over an extended time period of at least 10 seconds or with two injections at two different penetration depths to reduce or eliminate patient pain during ablation.

摘要: A needling system, for use in areas where thin hollow needles are used to inject or aspirate fluids and gases, is provided and comprises a thin, rigid tube body needle that is open on both ends and throughout the length with one sharp end. The needle body and hub are designed such that the needle has a ball end that fits within a socket of the hub forming a seal and allowing the needle to be oriented non-colinearly and non-parallel to the central axis of the hub. Needle orientation relative to the hub can be limited from a conical volume to a planar or multi planar angular orientations. The needle so configured allows the user to circumvent an obstacle that otherwise inhibit direct linear access to a point-of-interest by providing a device that can fit around or between obstructions providing optimal direct path towards the desired therapy delivery point.

摘要: Disclosed herein are expandable introducer sheaths and methods of making and using the same. The sheaths minimize trauma to a patient's vasculature by allowing for temporary expansion of a portion of the sheath to accommodate passage of a delivery system for a cardiovascular device, then return to a non-expanded state after the passage of the device. The sheath includes an elongated annular member having longitudinally extending channels that facilitate the sheath's temporary expansion. The channels are positioned in such a way that, upon expansion, they enable the movement of protruding contact surfaces toward the inner and outer surfaces of the annular member, reducing friction between the surface and the passing device. Some embodiments of the expandable sheath include an elastic outer layer that pushes the protruding contact surfaces back towards their original positions after the passage of the device.

A device may include the second portion of the external surface including a micro-textured surface configured to spread drops of a liquid tissue adhesive across the second portion of the external surface by capillary action to form a thin film and/or micro-droplets of the liquid tissue adhesive to achieve faster curing and hence adhesion between catheter to skin.
