Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for notifying an application function node about a reliable data service (RDS) configuration of a network. The method implemented at an exposure function node includes: obtaining an RDS configuration of a terminal device; determining an RDS capability of a network; and sending a message including information about the RDS capability of the network to the application function node, if the RDS capability of the network is changed. The RDS capability of the network indicates whether the network supports the RDS. The method implemented at an application function node includes: receiving, from an exposure function node, a message including information about the RDS of the network, if the RDS capability of the network is changed. Data transmissions of the application function node with improper configuration may be avoided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for securing network communications between a first device and a second device over a service-based architecture, include receiving, at the first device, an access request including: a request to use a service of the service-based architecture, an authentication public key certificate associated with the second device or a proxy device therefore, a unique identifier of the second device, and a digital signature using the private key associated with the authentication public key certificate. The first device may verify the authentication public key certificate and generate an encrypted access response including an access token that allows access to the service, which is then transmitted back to the second device for further use in accessing the service-based architecture.

Abstract: A system for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly within a shipping container (transported on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver) has wireless sensor-based ID nodes at different locations within the container and multiple command nodes mounted to the container. A first command node is programmatically configured to be operative to detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; responsively identify the anomaly based upon the sensor data detected by that command node; and transmit a validation request to another command node. The other command node is configured to be operative to also detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; receive the validation request from the first command node; verify the anomaly in response to the validation request and based upon the sensor data detected by the second command node; and broadcast a verification message based upon whether the anomaly for the shipping container is verified.

Abstract: A network router provides Internet connectivity to an intermediate router (e.g., implemented on a computer, smartphone or other device), which in turn provides Internet connectivity to a plurality of devices (e.g., IoT devices). During migration to a new router, the intermediate router may receive an indication that the first wireless router is out of service or no longer exists. Despite that the first wireless router is out of service or no longer exists, the intermediate router keeps each network connection from a plurality of devices to the intermediate router in a manner that is unaffected by the first wireless router being down or no longer existing (other than the plurality of devices experiencing a temporary Internet service interruption). The intermediate router then connects to a second wireless router to replace the first wireless router that is out of service or no longer exists. The intermediate router provides, via the connection to the new second wireless router, Internet connectivity to the plurality of devices connected to the intermediate router without reconnection, reactivation or reconfiguration of the plurality of devices to obtain the Internet connectivity.

An example method for performing a context switchover in a wireless network includes identifying a plurality of first parameters associated with a user equipment (UE) and a plurality of second parameters associated with an edge network entity; receiving a data path change notification from a session management entity; determining a ranking for each of a plurality of edge application servers (EASs) based on the plurality of first parameters and the plurality of second parameters, in response to reception of the data path change notification; selecting at least one target EAS of the plurality of EASs based on the ranking for each of the plurality of EASs; and performing the context switchover to the at least one target EAS.

Abstract: A system with distributed proxy for reducing traffic in a wireless network satisfies data requests made by a mobile application. The system includes a mobile device having a local proxy for intercepting a data request made by the mobile application. The local proxy simulates application server responses for the mobile application on the mobile device for data requests where responses are available in the local cache. A proxy server is coupled to the mobile device and an application server to which the data request is made. The proxy server is able to communicate with the local proxy. The local proxy forwards the data request to the proxy server for transmission to the application server for a response to the data request. The proxy server queries the application server for any changes to the data request that the mobile application has previously made and notifies the local proxy of such changes.
