摘要: Systems and methods for automatic frequency coordination are provided. In one embodiment, an automatic frequency coordination (AFC) system for authorizing unlicensed operator utilization of a shared spectrum band comprising channels licensed to incumbent operators comprises: a processor coupled to a memory; and an exclusion zone calculator executed by the processor, the exclusion zone calculator configured to construct an exclusion zone for an incumbent receiver antenna operating on a licensed channel of the shared band, wherein the calculator is configured to construct the exclusion zone by: calculating a set of exclusion zone radiuses along a plurality of radials of a radial grid based on applying a moving average filter to interference power values calculated for a plurality of locations along a length of each of the radials; and applying an averaging filter to the exclusion zone radiuses to define the exclusion zone between the exclusion zone radiuses and the receiver antenna.

摘要: The disclosed technology relates to a process of dynamically assigning operational parameters for access points within a CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) network. In particular, the disclosed technology monitors for and detects interference between nearby access points and user equipment devices that may belong to the same enterprise or to different enterprises. Machine learning processes are used to revise the operational parameters that were initially assigned by the Spectrum Access System (SAS). These processes are also used to suggest an updated set of operational parameters to the SAS for the access points. The dynamic assignment reduces interference experienced by the access point with respect to nearby other access points and/or nearby other user equipment. The dynamic assignment aims to improve a quality of communication between the access point and its associated user equipment.

摘要: Disclosed are techniques for determining a distance (or range) between a first wireless entity and a second wireless entity. In an aspect, the first wireless entity transmits a first positioning reference signaling (PRS) signal to the second wireless entity at a first time, where the first PRS signal is received by the second wireless entity at a second time, and receives a second PRS signal from the second wireless entity at a third time, where the second PRS signal is transmitted by the second wireless entity at a fourth time. The first wireless entity enables the distance to be determined by a location computing entity, for example, by a location server, based on the first, second, third, and fourth times. The first wireless entity may be a mobile device or a base station and the second wireless entity may be the other of the mobile device or base station.

摘要: A spectrum refarm system defines, for each of multiple geographic regions, a spectrum set that represents telecommunications spectrum blocks in use in a corresponding geographic region and a first distribution of technical allocations of each spectrum set. The first distribution of technical allocations for an identified spectrum set specifies telecommunications technologies that are deployed on the spectrum blocks in the identified spectrum set and a number of the spectrum blocks on which each technology is deployed. The spectrum refarm system can maintain the spectrum sets in a data store and modify information in the data store to cause a distribution of technical allocations for a first spectrum set to change from a respective first distribution to a second distribution. Information in the data store is also modified to cause a distribution of technical allocations for a second spectrum set to change from a respective first distribution to a third distribution.

摘要: An interface circuit in an electronic device may communicate using communication protocol in a shared band of frequencies. During operation, the interface circuit may perform a scan of available channels in the shared band of frequencies, and may detect one or more used channels in the shared band of frequencies that are reserved or used by another communication protocol (such as a primary channel that is used by both of the communication protocols). Alternatively, the interface circuit may receive, from another interface circuit in the electronic device, information specifying the one or more used channels in the shared band of frequencies that are reserved or used by the other communication protocol. Next, the interface circuit may mask the one or more used channels from the available channels, and the interface circuit may select one or more channels from the remaining available channels for use with the communication protocol.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for enhancing data rates in a small-cell wireless communication network. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus utilize “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with 3GPP wireless communication network (e.g. 4G LTE or 5GNR) for the delivery of services to a number of enhanced fixed wireless apparatus (CPEe/FWAe) at user or subscriber premises. The various CPEe/FWAe report Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) data to their respective serving base stations, and each base station maps the CQI value to a prescribed configuration (e.g., to the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS)) adaptively for the transmission of the data to the CPEe/FWAe. In one implementation, the base stations update the CQI to MCS values adaptively according to ACK/NACK requests received from the CPEe/FWAe.
