Abstract: A converged data exchange method and a time-sensitive network switch are provided in the present disclosure. The network switch device performs sensitivity identification for the data to be forwarded. For the switching transmission of non-time-sensitive data, the push port queue and the pop port queue perform cut-through switching for the data, which reduces the residence time of the data packet in the switch device. For time-sensitive data, the push port queue and pop port queue forward the data according to the corresponding priority scheduling policies.

The selection of the flits into the virtual channels and the egress characterized by the steps of computing default and elevated bandwidths of the virtual channels, computing default and elevated weights of the virtual channels based on the default and elevated bandwidths and generating a weightage lookup table using the default and elevated weights to perform arbitration weightage lookup for the flits with default and elevated priority levels for selecting the flits into the virtual channels and the egress, wherein the flits from the different ingress comprise different default and elevated weight.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for processing multi-cast messages are disclosed. A system includes at least one or more processing units, one or more memory controllers, and a communication fabric coupled to the processing unit(s) and the memory controller(s). The communication fabric includes a plurality of crossbars which connect various agents within the system. When a multi-cast message is received by a crossbar, the crossbar extracts a message type indicator and a recipient type indicator from the message. The crossbar uses the message type indicator to determine which set of masks to lookup using the recipient type indicator. Then, the crossbar determines which one or more masks to extract from the selected set of masks based on values of the recipient type indicator. The crossbar combines the one or more masks with a multi-cast route to create a port vector for determining on which ports to forward the multi-cast message.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided to facilitate network egress fairness between applications. At an egress port of a network, an arbitrator can provide fairness-based traffic shaping to data associated with applications. The desired fairness-based traffic shaping can be provided based on bandwidth, traffic classes, or other parameters. Consequently, the egress link's bandwidth can be allocated with fairness among the applications.

Abstract: A network interface controller (NIC) capable of efficient memory access is provided. The NIC can be equipped with an operation logic block, a signaling logic block, and a tracking logic block. The operation logic block can maintain an operation group associated with packets requesting an operation on a memory segment of a host device of the NIC. The signaling logic block can determine whether a packet associated with the operation group has arrived at or departed from the NIC. Furthermore, the tracking logic block can determine that a request for releasing the memory segment has been issued. The tracking logic block can then determine whether at least one packet associated with the operation group is under processing in the NIC. If no packet associated with the operation group is under processing in the NIC, tracking logic block can notify the host device that the memory segment can be released.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing multicast data transmission in a network having a plurality of switches arranged in a Dragonfly network topology, including: receiving a multicast transmission at an edge port of a switch and identifying the transmission as a network multicast transmission; creating an entry in a multicast table within the switch; routing the multicast transmission across the network to a plurality of destinations via a plurality of links, wherein at each of the links the multicast table is referenced to determine to which ports the multicast transmission should be forwarded; and changing, when necessary, the virtual channel used by each copy of the multicast transmission as the copy progresses through the network.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for a bandwidth manager for packetized data designed to arbitrate access between multiple, high bandwidth, ingress channels (sources) to one, lower bandwidth, egress channel (sink). The system calculates which source to grant access to the sink on a word-to-word basis and intentionally corrupts/cuts packets if a source ever loses priority while sending. Each source is associated with a ranking that is recalculated every data word. When a source buffer sends enough words to have its absolute rank value increase above that of another source buffer waiting to send, the system “cuts” the current packet by forcing the sending buffer to stop mid-packet and selects a new, lower ranked, source buffer to send. When there are multiple requesting source buffers with the same rank, the system employs a weighted priority randomized scheduler for buffer selection.
