    摘要: The invention relates to a device for industrially measuring measurement objects with a measuring probe that can be led up to the measurement object, on which measuring probe at least one distance sensor is provided for measuring instantaneous distance of a reference point of the measuring probe from a wall of the measurement. The measuring probe is rotatably supported on a retainer, which is fixed in relation to the measurement object and/or the position of which in relation to the measurement object is known. The device also include an evaluating apparatus designed to receive at least one distance value determined by the distance sensor and to associate the at least one distance value with a rotational position of the measuring probe in the context of a measurement. Means are provided for determining a change in the relative position between the retainer and the measurement object occurring during the measurement.

    摘要: A method of dimensioning a hooped tube intended to carry a fluid under pressure. The hooped tube consists of a metal tube and of a reinforcing element wound around the metal tube so as to hoop the tube. In a first stage, the method consists in determining, according to a first series of criteria, the characteristics of the metal tube without the hooping reinforcement that is wound around it at the end of the manufacture process. The first series of criteria includes the resistance to all the mechanical stresses applied to the hooped tube, i.e. compressive, bending, collapse and tensile stresses, with the exception of the radial stresses due to the internal pressure. In a second stage, the method consists in determining the hooping characteristics so as to obtain a determined prestress field in the wall of the hooped tube.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for measuring the thickness of film fouling in a hydraulic system. While the system is clean and unfouled, it is subjected to a brief test run during which the water velocity is swept over a wide range and the corresponding pressure drops are measured and recorded to provide a reference curve for the velocity-pressure drop characteristic. Later, when the system is fouled, the brief test run is repeated to arrive at a new reference curve, part of which substantially coincides with the said reference curve and part of which departs monotonically. The point of departure, by calculation, yields the thickness of the film fouling.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting, measuring the extent of and locating localized areas of deterioration, such as pitting, in the interior walls of tubing or other hollow objects. A cylindrical pneumatic probe with its air input side connected to a constant flow source of pressurized air and having a transversely extending baffle ring with a sharp outer edge across which the flow of air from said source is directed through the sharp edged orifice created between the baffle ring sharp outer edge and the tube inner wall and a pressure transducer connected to the probe air input air generates signals transmitted to a visual recording device connected to the pressure transducer. In the method the pneumatic probe having its thin outer edged baffle ring of a diameter closely matching that of the tube interior to be inspected is connected to a constant pressure air source. The probe is inserted into a flawless tube base standard test tube having a diameter equal to the tube to be inspected and a constant flow of air is passed through the probe with the back pressure generated by the base standard test tube being measured and established as a zero based value. The probe is then inserted into a succession of flawless calibration tubes of increasing size increments and the back pressure is recorded for each successive calibration tube in relationship to the zero base value. The tube is then inserted into and passed along a length of a tube to be inspected and the measured back pressure is recorded for each increment of length of the tube with respect to the zero based value and back pressure generated by the succession of flawless tube of increased diameter.

    摘要: In the injection molding of elongated thin walled articles, air within the mold escapes from the mold cavity through vent orifices in the cavity and in an elongated core positioned within the cavity. To determine whether critical mold venting is within desired tolerances, a relatively high pressure gas is applied to the vent orifice and pressure is allowed to decay by escape through the orifice. Time required for a predetermined magnitude of pressure drop is measured and employed as an indication of vent orifice acceptability.

    摘要: A Flexible Membrane Bearing is used as a gage to sense variations in the surface shape of a hole which acts as the bearing bore, the deformation characteristics of the thin cylindrical tube which constitutes the bearing surface being used to amplify the effects of clearance and out of roundness as sensed by the outlet restrictor edge of the bearing. Secondary sensing means are employed to measure membrane deflections with respect to the bearing shaft at selected points behind the bearing surface using bridge type detection means to correlate said deflections with the different modes of deformation which are characteristic of a thin tube supported at the ends. Secondary measurements are in turn correlated with angular position of the bearing and its axial position in the hole. The system comprises the bearing, power and control, sensors, and means for data handling including display, recording, and processing.

    摘要: A fluidic system for evaluating the physical characteristics of an article within upper and lower limits. The system includes a fixture in which the article to be measured is placed, a source of fluid pressure which delivers fluid to the fixture, a plurality of fluidic amplifiers, a pair of interface signal devices and a pair of indicators. Pressure signals resulting from fluid flow past the article in the fixture are conducted to the signal devices which emit control signals to actuate the fluidic amplifiers. The output of two of the fluidic amplifiers are in fluid communication with the indicators and function to selectively actuate the indicators in response to the fluid pressure in the fixture and the signals emitted by the signal device.
