    摘要: A method for the direct reduction of feedstock, containing metal-oxide, to form metallic material, by contact with hot reduction gas in a reduction assembly (1): the product of the direct reduction process is discharged from the reduction assembly by a product discharge apparatus, which is flushed with seal gas, drawn off from the vent gas and subsequently dedusted. At least one portion of the dedusted vent gas is used as a combustion energy source during the production of the reduction gas, and/or as a component of a furnace fuel gas during a combustion process for heating the reduction gas, and/or as a component of the reduction gas. Apparatus for carrying out the method is disclosed.

In some variants, graphitizable material wherein the particles have a particle size of less than 3 mm is used, and/or, a material column is formed throughout the heating zone of a particular process chamber, wherein graphitizable material, after being supplied through the inlet from the top, trickles through an intake zone of the process chamber onto the material column, and/or, a material column is formed in a stationary heating zone of a particular process chamber encompassed by the heating zone, wherein graphitizable material, after being supplied through the intake from the top, trickles through a drop heating zone likewise encompassed by the heating zone onto the material column, and/or, graphitizable material in one or more material vessels is conveyed through a particular process chamber and through the heating zone thereof.     摘要: A method and plant for manufacturing cement clinker are disclosed, in which cement raw meal is calcined in a calciner (3, 23). The calciner (3, 23) comprises an upper zone (3a, 23a) and a lower zone (3b, 23b), where fuel, combustion gas and raw meal are introduced into the upper zone of the calciner and directed downward through the calciner. The combustion gas and raw meal are introduced tangentially into the calciner and subject to rotation follow a spiral-shaped flow path, and, under the action of gravity, the raw meal is primarily directed down along the wall of the calciner. The rotation of the combustion gas in at least the lower zone of the calciner is subjected to braking and approximately simultaneously or subsequently at least some of the combustion gas and at least some of the raw meal in the lower zone of the calciner is directed in the direction towards the centre-line of the calciner.

This is effected in thatprimarily hematite and/or magnetite fine ores and/or ore dusts are subjected to preheating by the fluidized layer process in a preheating zone,the thus preheated charging substances are completely reduced to a major extent in at least one consecutively arranged reduction zone,whereupon at least the more finely particulate charging substances are charged into the fluidized bed and/or, if desired, also into the fixed bed, of the melting-gasifying zone by forced conveyance, preferably by pneumatic conveyance, and are melted there.

    摘要: Apparatus for discharging solids from a shaft furnace comprises a lock chamber structure, the interior of which is connected to the shaft furnace by a conveyor duct, and a rotor, which is rotatably mounted in the interior of the lock chamber structure and adapted to be driven and arranged to receive solids from the furnace and seals the inlet of the lock chamber from the outlet of the lock chamber. To permit a continuous discharge of solids from the furnace without an escape of gas from the furnace, the rotor consists of a cellular wheel, which has cell-defining walls in a star-shaped configuration. The conveyor duct is connected to a source of a compressed blocking gas. An exhaust gas duct communicates with the interior of the lock chamber structure adjacent to the conveying portion of the cellular wheel between the inlet and the outlet of the cellular wheel.

    摘要: Apparatus for tapping a wall of a metallurgical vessel wherein a drilling machine is carried by a mounting means for reversible displacement therealong on a track. The mounting means is suspended from a laterally extending boom which swings on a stationary support, and the boom is swung by a mechanism for selectively displacing the mounting means with its drill into an operative position for drilling a tap hole in a metallurgical vessel and an inoperative position. In one embodiment of the invention, the mounting means together with its guide track for carrying the drilling machine is pivotally connected to the boom and guide means are provided to guide the pivotal swinging of the mounting means relative to the boom to guide the mounting means over a predetermined path of movement when the boom is swinging. In a further embodiment, the boom is driven to swing in opposite directions with different motors respectively thereby permitting the boom to displace the mounting means to the inoperative position at a much more rapid rate than is desired for positioning the mounting means in the operative position. In yet a further embodiment, the mounting means together with its drilling machine is guided into and maintained in the proper operative position for tapping the vessel by an alignment strut which extends from the mounting means, the end of which is contactable with a stop which is prepositioned on the vessel to be tapped. Upon positioning in the operative position, the strut is continually driven into contact engagement with the stop without the requirement of additional mechanical locking mechanisms to maintain the drill in its proper prealigned operative position.
