    摘要: Systems for efficiently starting an engine of a hybrid electric vehicle are provided. An example of a system comprises a first processor and a second processor. The second processor is configured to determine when to start an internal combustion engine, cause energy to be supplied from an energy storage device to a generator/motor to cause the generator/motor and crankshaft to rotate to at least a hold speed, transmit a first instruction to a first processor when determining that the internal combination engine should be started. The first processor does not supply fuel to at least one cylinder of the internal combustion engine in response to the first instruction. The second processor is configured to transmit a second instruction to the first processor after a variable period of time has elapse after the generator/motor or crankshaft has reached at least the hold speed.

    摘要: An engine mounted fuel manifold configured to inhibit gelling of fuel is provided, comprising: a housing comprising an internal chamber configured to receive drain fuel from a pump, an accumulator and a fuel injector, and a recirculation passage in fluid communication with the internal chamber to receive the drain fuel; a tank fuel port configured to receive fuel from a fuel tank; an output port configured to output fuel to a filter; a fuel supply passage in communication with the tank fuel port and the output port; and a thermal recirculation valve in fluid communication with the recirculation passage and the fuel supply passage, the valve responding to temperatures of fuel received by the tank fuel port being below a predetermined value by mixing drain fuel from the recirculation passage with fuel in the fuel supply passage, thereby causing mixed fuel to be supplied to the filter.

    摘要: The invention relates to a volume-controlled four-stroke reciprocating internal combustion engine comprising a first cylinder, in which a first piston that is operationally connected to a crankshaft via a first connecting rod, is arranged so as to be displaceable in a reciprocating motion, and at least one second cylinder, in which a second piston that is operationally connected to the crankshaft via a second connecting rod is arranged so as to be displaceable in a reciprocating motion. The engine further includes a fresh air tract for the second cylinder, in which an expansion/compression machine is arranged in the direction of flow of fresh air before a gas exchange inlet valve of the second cylinder, wherein the expansion/compression machine is the first cylinder. The volume-controlled internal combustion engine as per the invention has great potential for saving fuel and thereby for reducing CO2.

The housing is disposed above and coupled to a pair of frame members via a plurality of connecting members. The frame members extend laterally away from the housing. The insertion assembly further includes an intake manifold coupled to the housing via a tube. A plurality of runner tubes extend laterally away from the intake manifold and pass through the frame members at an inner portion of the frame members and terminate at an outer portion of the frame members.
