In the first position, the clearance between the valve element and the inner wall of the intake port is small. In the second position, the clearance between the valve element and the inner wall of the intake port is large.

    摘要: Provided is a throttle valve device for an internal combustion engine which is favorably protected from icing, and enables a favorable control of the intake flow rate by avoiding an abrupt increase in the flow rate particularly in a small opening angle range. An upstream recess (21) and a downstream recess (22) are formed in a lower part of the throttle bore (11) of the throttle valve device. Moisture that may deposit on the inner wall of the throttle bore is allowed to be drained to the recesses. A cross sectional area of one of the recesses over which the lower edge of the throttle valve member sweeps as the throttle valve member (30) opens from the fully closed position is smaller than that of the other recess so that an abrupt change in the intake flow rate can be avoided in a small opening angle region.

    摘要: A circuit arrangement for controlling electromagnetic valves, has a control unit that issues control signals for controlling the angular position of an electromagnetic valve and receives a reply signal regarding the value. The circuit arrangement receives the control signals of the control unit and issues the reply signal to it. A bridge circuit receives control signals from the circuit arrangement for the triggering of a valve servomotor and issues a reply signal, which indicates the angular position of the valve to the circuit arrangement. The circuit arrangement has an angular sensor that transmits a value, which indicates the angular position of the valve to the circuit arrangement. When a rise of the current of the servomotor above a predetermined threshold is detected, the bridge circuit sets a status flag. The circuit arrangement then transmits a predetermined level to the control unit, and the control unit detects the predetermined level. When a level is determined to be impermissible, the control unit requests the value, which indicates the angular position of the valve, from the circuit arrangement and processes this value.

The engine has an exhaust gas recirculation device which includes an exhaust gas recirculation passage for recirculating exhaust gases from the engine to an intake system of the engine, and an exhaust gas recirculation control valve provided in the exhaust gas recirculation passage, for controlling a flow rate of the exhaust gases. An air-fuel ratio control amount is calculated based on an output of the air-fuel ratio sensor provided in the exhaust system of the engine. The air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is controlled with the air-fuel ratio control amount. A failure of the exhaust gas recirculation device is determined based on a changing component of the air-fuel ratio control amount when changing an opening of the exhaust gas recirculation control valve in a predetermined cycle.
