Abstract: The invention provides a laminated film that has, when being formed as a gas-barrier laminated film provided with an inorganic thin film layer, excellent oxygen gas barrier properties and adhesion between respective layers under normal conditions and, even after being subjected to a moist heat treatment, has good adhesion even when subjected to processing such as printing or lamination The laminated film has (a) a covering layer on at least one surface of a substrate film, wherein the covering layer contains a covering layer resin composition with a resin having an oxazoline group as a constituent component, (b) an inorganic thin film layer on the covering layer, and (c) a protective layer that has a urethane resin and an arithmetic mean roughness of 0.5-2.0 nm in a 2-μm square and is on the inorganic thin film layer. The laminated film has a surface hardness of 350-700 N/mm2.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an aqueous dispersion of inorganic fibers and a method for formulating an aqueous coating composition therefrom. The aqueous dispersion of inorganic fibers comprises water, inorganic fibers, a dispersing agent, an anti-settling agent and optionally additional additives, wherein the inorganic fibers have an average fiber diameter of from 1 micron to 100 microns and have a number average aspect ratio of from 1.1:1 to 10:1; and wherein the aqueous dispersion does not contain a film-forming amount of a polymeric resin.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are aqueous coating compositions containing an anionically stabilized polymer, one or more derivatized polyamines, and a volatile base. Coating compositions can farther include one or more additional copolymers, which may or may not be anionically stabilized, and/or additional additives, including pigments, defoamers, pigment dispersing agents, thickeners, surfactants, and combinations thereof. By incorporating a derivatized polyamine, such as an alkoxylated polyamine, the setting time of the coating compositions can be decreased. Also provided are coatings formed from the coating compositions described herein, as well as methods of forming these coatings.

Provided is an aqueous coating composition comprising a coating film-forming resin, a curing agent, a scaly pigment, an inorganic viscosity agent, a hydrophobic associative viscosity agent, and a dispersant, wherein the composition contains the inorganic viscosity agent in an amount of 1 to 7 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total resin solid content of the coating film-forming resin and the curing agent, and the composition contains the hydrophobic associative viscosity agent in an amount of 1 to 15 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total resin solid content of the coating film-forming resin and the curing agent.

Abstract: Described herein is an anti-rust composition for metal surfaces including: a) 30% to 80% by weight of water-soluble or water-dispersible acrylic resin and/or urethane resin; b) 0.1% to 10% by weight of epoxysilane and/or vinylsilane; c) 0.1% to 3% by weight of silicone surfactant and/or fluorosurfactant; d) 0.1% to 10% by weight of alcohol and/or ether; and e) water, where the weight percentage of each component is based on the total weight of the aqueous composition. Also described herein is an anti-rust treatment method on a metal surface including steps of i) coating the invented anti-rust composition onto the metal surface and ii) drying the coating layer at a temperature from 60° C. to 150° C. Also described herein is an anti-rust treated coil steel obtained by the anti-rust treatment method.
