摘要: The present invention is directed to a electro-optic device comprising microcells having a sealing layer, the sealing layer comprising a poly(vinyl alcohol) homopolymer or poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) copolymer and a polyurethane. The scaling layer shows good barrier properties to a non-polar fluid and low moisture absorption. The sealing layer can be used to seal microcells of electro-optic devices.

摘要: A liquid polymeric composition including: (a) from about 2 to about 20 weight percent of a polymer; (b) from about 5 to about 40 weight percent of a radiopaque molecule with a molecular weight below 2000 g/mol; and (c) from about 40 to about 93 weight percent of a non-physiological solvent or solvent system; wherein (i) the sum of the weight percent of all components in the composition is 100, (ii) the polymer and the radiopaque molecule are not covalently bound and are both dissolved in the non-physiological solvent or solvent system, and (iii) the polymer is soluble in the non-physiological solution and insoluble in a physiological solution at room temperature, and (iv) the liquid polymeric composition is capable of forming, upon contact with physiological conditions, a radiopaque precipitate which maintains at least 50% of its radiopacity during at least 30 minutes and loses at least 50% of its radiopacity in less than 6 months.

摘要: Disclosed herein are electrospun fibrous matrix and its production method. The method mainly includes the steps of, mixing a first polymer and a drug to form a first mixture, and sonicating the first mixture until a plurality of microparticles are formed with the drug encapsulated therein; and mixing the plurality of microparticles with a second polymer to form a second mixture, subjecting the second mixture to a wet electrospinning process to form the electrospun fibrous matrix. The thus-produced electrospun fibrous matrix is characterized by having a plurality of first and second fibrils woven together, in which each second fibril has a plurality of drug-encapsulated microparticles independently integrated and disposed along the longitudinal direction of the second fibril. Also disclosed herein is a method for treating a wound of a subject. The method includes applying the present electrospun fibrous matrix to the wound of the subject.

摘要: The present invention provides a class of magnetic hydrogels with tissue-mimetic mechanical properties and photothermal welding/healing capability. In these hydrogels, a hybrid network involving aramid nanofibers, functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is accomplished by a stepwise assembly of the functional components. The engineered interactions between nanoscale constituents enable facile materials processing and confer a combination of excellent mechanical properties, magnetism, water content and porosity.

In the manufacturing process for a microneedle array, for example, a template can be contacted against a surface of a continuous layer of a viscous polymer and separated from the surface to form a plurality of projections. The projections can then be solidified and laser cut at a predetermined distance from the surface to form the microstructure.

摘要: A self-stick insulation includes an insulation product and an adhesive coating applied to a major surface of the insulation product. The adhesive coating includes between about 5-15% by weight of the adhesive coating of at least one of polystyrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) and polyacrylic acid (PAA), between about 1 and 8% by weight of the adhesive coating of an alcohol amine, between about 25 and 50% by weight of the adhesive coating of a polyvinyl alcohol, and between about 20 and 40% by weight of the adhesive coating of a starch paste. The adhesive is activated with the application of liquid water.
