Abstract: The present invention provides a waterborne self-polishing antifouling paint and a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of marine antifouling paints. The waterborne self-polishing antifouling paint provided by the present invention includes the following components in parts by weight: 30-60 parts of waterborne self-polishing emulsion, 30-70 parts of waterborne slurry, 0.1-0.5 parts of waterborne leveling agent, 0.2-1 parts of waterborne defoamer, 0.5-1 parts of film-forming additive and 10-20 parts of water. The waterborne self-polishing antifouling paint provided by the present invention has an ultra-low content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (less than 20 g/L), and is environmentally friendly. The waterborne self-polishing antifouling paint can be formed into a paint film with good mechanical properties, stable self-polishing rate, and excellent water immersion resistance and antifouling performance.

Abstract: Described are sensors and methods of detecting hydrogen gas. The sensor includes a polymer matrix and a dye molecule in an amount sufficient such that exposure of the polymer matrix to hydrogen gas causes a change in a spectroscopic property of the dye molecule wherein the spectroscopic property includes at least one of color, absorbance, or luminescence. The polymer matrix may further include a catalyst, such as a transition metal, sulfonated Wilkinson's catalyst, colloidal Pt, sulfonated iridium cyclooctadiene triphenylphosphine, sulfonated rhodium cyclooctadiene triphenylphosphine, sulfonated ruthenium triphenylphosphine, or combinations thereof. Embodiments of the sensor may further include a gas permeable, water impermeable membrane, an outer covering, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: Provided herein are multimodal elastomer compositions comprising a first polymer fraction and a second polymer fraction, and methods for making such compositions. The elastomer compositions are preferably ethylene, α-olefin, copolymers or ethylene, α-olefin, polyene terpolymers. The elastomer compositions have high Mooney viscosity, thereby providing for improved elastomeric properties in compounds and other articles formed from the elastomer compositions. Surprisingly, the high Mooney viscosity compositions exhibit a much lower than expected viscosity when formulated into elastomer compounds. Thus, the processing detriments typically associated with high Mooney viscosity elastomers are minimized through the use of the elastomer compositions, and methods for making them, disclosed herein.

Abstract: Provided herein are multimodal elastomer compositions comprising a first polymer fraction and a second polymer fraction, and methods for making such compositions. The elastomer compositions have high Mooney viscosity, thereby providing for improved elastomeric properties in compounds and other articles formed from the elastomer compositions. Surprisingly, the high Mooney viscosity compositions exhibit a much lower than expected viscosity when formulated into elastomer compounds. Thus, the processing detriments typically associated with high Mooney viscosity elastomers are minimized through the use of the elastomer compositions, and methods for making them, disclosed herein.
