摘要: Provided is a chemically-recycled PET fiber with reduced degradation and superior strength and durability, and rubber-fiber composite products, such as tires, using the chemically-recycled PET fiber. The chemically-recycled PET fiber is made by polymerizing a raw material containing at least one of a monomer and an intermediate that are obtained by depolymerization of a PET product, the monomer including terephthalic acid (TPA) and/or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and the intermediate including bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET). The chemically-recycled PET fiber has a carboxyl end group (CEG) concentration of 15 eq/ton or less and a degree of crystallinity of 40% or more.

摘要: An improved method forms and employs a wax to modify throughputs and melt flow in polymers. The method includes: (a) selecting a solid polymeric material, (b) heating the solid polymeric material in an extruder to produce a molten polymeric material, (c) filtering the molten polymeric material, (d) placing the molten polymeric material through a chemical depolymerization process in a reactor to produce a depolymerized polymeric material, and (e) adding the depolymerized material to a pre-wax mixture to produce a modified polymer.

摘要: Compositions and methods of making a culture medium from a polymeric material are described herein. The method can include (a) depolymerizing and/or dispersing the polymeric material to obtain a depolymerized and/or dispersed residue, and (b) combining the depolymerized and/or dispersed residue with one or more adjuvants to form a culture medium. In some embodiments, the polymeric material can be a plastic article, such as a waste carpet material. Culture media prepared from the compositions and methods are also described. The culture media are suitable for culturing microorganisms including bacterium, algae, and fungus. The microorganisms can be used to produce a bioproduct such as a biopolymer, an enzyme, or a cellular metabolite.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylic monomer that suppresses heterogeneity of a (meth)acrylic resin depolymerization system and that makes it easier for microwaves to reach the system interior efficiently. According to this method for producing a (meth)acrylic monomer, which includes a step 1 for irradiating a prepared (meth)acrylic resin with microwaves and mixing to obtain a melt containing a (meth)acrylic resin having reduced molecular weight, a step 2 for adding additional (meth)acrylic resin to the melt and mixing to obtain a mixture containing additional (meth)acrylic resin in the melt, and a step 3 for irradiating the mixture with microwaves and mixing to obtain a (meth)acrylic monomer, it is possible to suppress heterogeneity of the (meth)acrylic resin depolymerization system and to make it easier for microwaves to reach the system interior efficiently.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for reducing or minimizing the chloride content of products generated during co-processing of a plastic feedstock (such as plastic waste) in a refinery process. The reduction in chloride is achieved by mixing the plastic feedstock with one or more additional feedstocks for co-processing in a mixing and/or holding vessel that is maintained at a dechlorination temperature that allows for decomposition of chlorine from the plastic feedstock to form HCl, while reducing or minimizing other conversion of the plastic feedstock and/or the additional feedstock. A purge gas can be passed through the mixing/holding vessel to remove the evolved HCl from the vessel. Because the dechlorination temperature is selected to reduce or minimize conversion of the feedstocks in the mixture, the amount of carbon-containing products that are removed with the purge gas can be reduced or minimized. The dechlorinated mixture of plastic feedstock and additional feedstock(s) can then be processed in a convenient refinery process, such as a thermal cracking process (e.g., coking, visbreaking, other types of pyrolysis) or a catalytic conversion process (e.g., fluid catalytic cracking).
