    摘要: A 1,3-diaryl triazene, in a solution obtained by the diazotization-coupling of a primary aromatic monoamine with a gas containing NO and NO.sub.2, which solution contains the monoamine and up to about 30 percent by weight of the triazene, based on the weight of the solution, is contacted with 0.4-2.0 percent of a strong acid, preferably nitric acid (based on the weight of the triazene-containing solution), at 50.degree.-120.degree. C. The triazene rearranges to an aromatic amino azo compound in a high para/ortho isomer ratio with minimum formation of binuclear by-products.

    摘要: 5-ALKYL TRIAZENO URACIL COMPOUNDS AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF WERE SYNTHESIZED BY REACTING AN ALKYL AMINE SUCH AS DIMETHYLAMINE WITH A METHONAL ADDUCT OF 5-DIAZOURACIL AND NUCLEOSIDES THEREOF, UNDER STRINGENT REACTION CONDITIONS TO YIELD THE DESIRED COMPOUNDS. These alkyl triazeno uracil compounds have the structure ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or a carbohydrate group, particularly a pentose or hexose monosaccaride such as ribose, arabinose, glucose, and the like, and R' and R" are lower alkyl groups having one to four carbon atoms and wherein R' and R" may be the same or different alkyl groups. The compounds of this invention have been found especially effective as antibacterial and antifungal agents and in inhibiting carcinoma growth in animal tissue.

    摘要: Basic azo dyestuffs, free from sulfo groups and having the formulaWherein Z is the radical of a tertiary amino group or of a quaternary ammonium group, Alk is alkylene of two to five carbon atoms, X is oxygen, Ar is phenylene unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, alkoxy of one to four carbon atoms and/or chlorine or bromine, and K as the radical of a coupling component is the radical of a tertiary amine of the benzene series, the radical of 2,6-diamino-3-cyano-4-methyl pyridine or a derivative thereof or the radical of the 2-hydroxynaphthalene series, which are suitable for the preparation of writing and stamping inks or pastes for ball-point pens as well as suitable in offset printing and for the dyeing, printing or mass dyeing of, for example, tannined cellulose fibers, silk, hair, leather, acetate silk, polyamide fibers or acid modified polyolefins, polyamide or polyester fibers and fibers containing polyacrylonitrile or polyvinylidene cyanide. The dyeings obtained on these fibers have, in general, a high color intensity and, in general, good fastness to light and to wet processing. The dyestuffs can be used in slightly acid and strongly acid baths and are stable at a temperature above 100.degree.C as used in high-temperature dyeing. Wool is completely reserved by the dyestuffs under normal dyeing conditions.

    摘要: 1,3-Diaryl triazenes, e.g., 1,3-diphenyltriazene, intermediates in the synthesis of aromatic diamines, e.g., p-phenylenediamine, are prepared by catalytically oxidizing ammonia, and subsequently the resulting nitric oxide, with a gas comprising diluted molecular oxygen, e.g., air, so as to produce a gas mixture containing dilute NO.sub.x, i.e., NO.sub.2 preferably admixed with NO, x being (1 + n), wherein n is the NO.sub.2 fraction of the NO.sub.x ; and contacting the gas mixture, preferably at a temperature in the range of about from 25.degree. to 350.degree. C., with excess primary aromatic monoamine, e.g., aniline, so as to result in a monoamine temperature in the range of about from 25.degree. to 90.degree. C., preferably 40.degree. to 60.degree. C., during contact. Highest yields of triazene are obtained when the x in NO.sub.x is about from 1.3 to 1.7, and the amount of NO.sub.x gas mixture contacted with the monoamine and the time of contact are such that at least about 60% by weight of the monoamine remains unconsumed. A gas mixture temperature just prior to gas contact with the liquid monoamine in the range of about from 110.degree. to 275.degree. C. is more preferred under certain circumstances.
