    摘要: A torsion isolator (34) for transmitting torque and dampening torsionals in a driveline. The isolator includes a composite c-shaped spring (48) disposed in an annular chamber (44) of a housing (38,40) filled with torque converter fluid. The spring transmits driveline torque and attenuates torsionals. The spring also functions as a fluid displacement piston by dividing the chamber into radially inner and outer volumes (44a,44b) which vary inversely in volume in response to torque changes flexing the spring. Rapid flexing of the spring increases the fluid pressure in the decreasing volume and thereby dampens or reduces the rate of spring flexing or rebound.

    摘要: The invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling a continuously variable speed transmission of a motor vehicle driven by an internal-combustion engine, by means of a control arrangement having a selecting device which simulates a stepped transmission by adjusting transmission ratios in according to a group of preset transmission ratios. To prevent repeated up and down shifting, a control arrangement is provided with a unit for detecting driving situations in which a transmission ratio shift according to the preset transmission rations would be too large, and also a unit for adjusting the preset transmission ratio. The recognition unit activates the adjustment unit as soon as the above-described driving situation occurs, and the adjustment unit then changes a preset transmission ratio so that the motive force is adapted to the present motive resistance, allowing the vehicle to achieve a positive longitudinal acceleration.

    摘要: In an automatic transmission, a second brake is engaged when the transmission is in second and is released when the transmission is in third and first. The second brake is controlled by a hydraulic actuator. Application of the hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic actuator of the second brake is limited upon upshift from first to second so that the hydraulic pressure is gently applied to the hydraulic actuator. The limitation of application of the hydraulic pressure is nullified upon downshift from third to second.

    摘要: An infinitely variable transmission in which the pitches of a driving pulley and a driven pulley are variable by means of hydraulic fluid pressure to vary the velocity ratio between the two pulleys. A lower pressure fluid and a higher pressure fluid are created from a hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic fluid supply source, with a constant pressure difference therebetween. The lower pressure fluid has its pressure value varied in response to the velocity ratio. The lower pressure fluid and the higher pressure fluid are selectively supplied to the movable pulley elements of the driving pulley and driven pulley. A hydraulic clutch and a pressure regulating valve are connected together by a hydraulic fluid supply passageway which is selectively closed and opened by a supply control valve. A drain passage is connected to the hydraulic fluid supply passageway to allow hydraulic fluid to escape from the hydraulic clutch when the passageway is closed by the supply control valve. In at least one movable pulley element, an orifice is formed through a sealing element which seals between an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion and a radially extending annular flange of a stationary piston element to communicate between first and second hydraulic pressure chambers defined within an annular space in a pulley main body at opposite sides of the annular flange of the stationary piston element.

The auxiliary transmission has a first and a second forward-drive position relating to a high and a low speed range, respectively, which high and low speed ranges are selected by an operator controlled shift lever. The hydraulic control apparatus comprises a shift valve controlled by an electric control signal so as to be placed selectively in one of a high-range position and a low-range position to place the auxiliary transmission in the first and second forward-drive positions, respectively. The control apparatus further comprise a lock device for holding the shift valve in the high-range position, irrespective of the electric control signal, while the high speed range is selected by the shift lever.
