    摘要: In accordance with the invention, the workpiece (1) is mounted on a lathe headstock spindle rotated by drive means about a headstock spindle axis (I--I). A turning tool (3) is mounted on a toolholder carriage adapted to move in translation along an infeed axis (III) and along a carriage axis (IV). The turning tool (3) has a cutting edge (4) made up of a plurality of cutting edge portions adapted to be individually engaged with the workpiece (1). The turning tool (3) is rotated about an axis (II) which is not parallel to the headstock spindle axis (I--I) to bring the separate portions of the cutting edge (4) of the turning tool (3) successively into contact with the workpiece (1). The invention can be used to cut helical threads.

    摘要: A metal connector and a jointing structure with which two members are jointed to each other with a sufficient fastening strength which can be grasped quantitatively. The metal connector comprises a metal connector body attached to a first one of the members and including a bottom plate and a core plate which has a window hole formed therein. A bolt is mounted on the core plate and extends into the window hole with a spacing left in the window hole. The other second member has a fitting recess formed therein in which the bottom plate and core plate of the metal connector body are received, and further has a working window hole formed therein. A nut is screwed on the bolt, and a holding plate is disposed in the spacing and the working window hole and presses, when the nut is turned to move on the bolt to press against the holding plate, against inner peripheries of the window hole and working window hole to force the first member to move toward the second member until a longitudinal end thereof is closely contacted with the second member.

    摘要: An improved threading attachment for turning machines incorporates a carrier for holding a tool such as a tap, a stationary supporting arbor and a sliding spindle extending between the arbor and carrier in coaxial relationship with the tap. The spindle shifts axially relative to the carrier and arbor and automatically disengages the carrier from the arbor to terminate a thread cutting operation when the tap has advanced through a hole by a predetermined amount or has bottomed in a blind hole.
