Abstract:
The present utility model relates to a building structure, and in particular to a self-heat preservation building structure applied to extremely severe cold regions. The self-heat preservation building structure adopts a wood material, and comprises an independent foundation, a floor, a wallboard, a ceiling board and a roof board, wherein the independent foundation is disposed on a hard groundwork, and the upper end part of the independent foundation is provided with spigots for mounting wooden pillars; mortises are disposed in the lower ends of the wooden pillars and configured to mount longitudinal and transverse ground beams, and the upper ends of the wooden pillars are provided with criss-cross straight slots which are configured to mount longitudinal and transverse wooden beams; wooden square beams are mounted between the ground beams and between the wooden beams, and the wooden beams are provided with wooden braces; the floor and the ceiling board are respectively paved on the wooden square beams; the wallboard is spliced with the ground beams and the wooden beams in a mortise-tenon manner; the roof board is mounted on the wooden braces; and the wallboard is provided with a window opening for mounting a heat preservation window and a doorway for a wooden door. The self-heat preservation building structure has the following advantages: (1) the mortise-tenon structure is adopted, and (2) the original ecological environment of the extremely severe cold regions is protected.
Abstract:
A ventilating sill for elevating a wall partition from a floor surface in order to isolate the wall partition from moisture and humidity that can emanate from the floor surface or be present thereon. The ventilating sill includes a block having a support surface, a base surface, two opposed side surfaces and a plurality of spaced channels extending between the side surfaces forming channeled surfaces. The ventilating sill further includes a pair of slats, each slat extending from each side surface upwardly towards the wall partition at a right angle to the support surface, the slats defining a support area, and being adapted to guide the wall partition onto the support surface and at least one aperture communicating between the support area and an ambient environment for ventilating the support area and draining moisture and humidity therefrom.
Abstract:
A position sensing construction system according to aspects of the disclosure may include a GPS system arranged to cover a jobsite, a local position sensing system in combination with the GPS system, tools equipped with position/movement sensors and communication capability, and software to record positions of installed building components. Local position sensing systems may utilize one or more known fixed points, the position of which is established by GPS or other techniques, and report the position of building components relative to the fixed positions. Installation tools are configured to deliver a position signal corresponding to the position of a building component after installation is completed. Software facilitates communication between system components, records position and other information from tools and generates maps of tagged locations that can be used during construction and later for repair and maintenance of the completed project. The positions and maps may be in three dimensions.
Abstract:
An anchor for securing a threaded rod to a concrete structural element has a generally tapered conical or spherical body element configured to be seated within the concrete structural element. The anchor further includes a threaded bore extending through the body element. The threaded bore engages the threads of the rod in order to secure the rod to the concrete structural element. The body element has a generally planar top face having a top face diameter, as well as a generally planar bottom face having a bottom face diameter. Formed between the top face and the bottom face is a side wall such that the body element is formed with a taper. The taper is inserted into a complementary recess formed within the concrete structural element.
Abstract:
A ratcheting-type rod engaging nut and assembly for releasably engaging a tie-down rod, and including a generally cylindrical body element having an upper cylindrical portion of a first diameter, a lower cylindrical portion of a second diameter less than the first diameter, and a tapered bore coaxial with and interconnecting the upper bore and the lower bore; an assembly of rod gripping segments disposed within the internal bore and surrounding a passageway for receiving a tie-down rod, each segment of the assembly including an outwardly facing surface having a tapered portion for engaging the tapered bore, and an inwardly facing surface for engaging the rod. A cap is disposed at the top of the body element and includes springs for downwardly biasing the segments into engagement with the tapered bore and for causing the facing surfaces of the segments to engage an outer surface of the rod.
Abstract:
A method and system is provided for constructing a multilevel structure using a hybrid top chord bearing floor framing system. The method and system may include a top chord bearing floor truss positioned on a first frame structure. The top chord of the truss may include a load-bearing interface with a top surface and a bottom surface. The truss may be wholly supported by the load-bearing interface of the top chord. The method and system may further include a second frame structure on the top surface of the truss. The first frame structure may be secured to the second frame structure via a fastener that extends through both the second bottom load bearing member and load-bearing interface of the truss into the first top load bearing member of the first frame structure.
Abstract:
The present invention relates in a first part to a fibre cement lining board for use as a replacement to building wrap which can be used to form a sub wall on the outer surface of a wall frame, and to building wall structures and methods of constructing buildings using these particular lining boards. The invention also relates to a new method of constructing framed dual skin walls using the lining boards, particularly brick or masonry veneer walls, and to the wall structures formed by that method.
Abstract:
An apparatus for connecting framing components of a building structure to a foundation wall includes a connector having a generally L-shaped cross-section. The connector is configured to be secured to the foundation wall. The connector has a joist shelf configured to support one or more floor joists and a ledge configured to support one or more wall sheathing panels.
Abstract:
A system for attaching a columnar building member to a structural support member, uses one or more connecting brackets comprising a flat base plate having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter, with a plurality of apertures disposed along the base plate. A socket extends from the inner perimeter of the base plate, with the perimeter of the socket conforming to the inner perimeter of the base plate, and with a plurality of apertures disposed along the socket. The columnar building member is attached to the connecting bracket via a plurality of fastening means through the apertures disposed along the socket. The columnar building member and connecting bracket are attached to the structural support member(s) via a plurality of fastening means through the apertures disposed along the base plate.
Abstract:
An improved connector formed with a seat member that is stiffened by first and second reinforcing flanges that extend around first and second corners at either end of a third edge of the seat member, the first and second reinforcing flanges being connected to the third edge and to first and second edges that intersect with the third edge, the fist and second edges also having side members connected to the seat member. When used as a hanger, the connector includes a seat member, first and second backwall members which are connected to the supporting girder and first and second side members connected to the supported trusses. A flange member integrally connected to the seat provides further connection when a jack truss is supported.
