Abstract:
A pond filter unit and a method for operating a pond filter unit is provided. A control unit controls the operation of the pond filter unit, including the cleaning cycle of the filter. The pond filter unit further includes one or more plugs for connecting one or more auxiliary devices, such as a separate pump, one or more additional pond filter units, illumination means/lamps, air pumps, and/or feed automats. The control unit of the pond filter further controls the one or more auxiliary devices connected to the plugs, such as pumps, air pumps, automatic feeding devices based on input settings for each of the one or more auxiliary devices. The control unit further controls the cleaning cycle for cleaning of the filter in the vessel.
Abstract:
A drainless reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system provides relatively pure water for on-demand dispensing, while recycling brine to a domestic hot water system. The drainless purification system includes a pre-filter catalyst cartridge for removing chlorine-based contaminants from a tap water supply upstream from an RO membrane. The catalyst is regularly refreshed by a high through-flow of water to a conventional cold water dispense faucet, thereby significantly prolonging the service life of the RO membrane. The RO membrane is incorporated into a multi-cartridge unit adapted for facilitated slide-out removal and replacement as needed. A control valve recycles brine from the RO membrane to the hot water system during pure water production, and recirculates tap water through the RO membrane when a pure water reservoir is substantially filled. The multi-cartridge unit may further include an air filtration system for providing a flow of filtered air.
Abstract:
The filtration system of the present invention comprises first and second filtration tanks. The first filtration tank has a first floating filter media layer, a first upper screen with a first aperture ratio, a first inlet, a first backwash water supply source, and a first backwash water outlet means. The second filtration tank has a second floating filter media layer, a second upper screen with a second aperture ratio, a second inlet, an inflow blocking mechanism capable of blocking inflow of water to be treated through the second inlet, a second backwash water supply source, and a second backwash water outlet means. The first aperture ratio is smaller than the second aperture ratio.
Abstract:
A floating media filter including a filter housing with an influent conduit extending into the filter housing, the influent conduit having at least one outflow aperture positioned below an effluent outlet of the filter housing. A floating media is positioned in the filter housing and forms a media bed when the filter is in a filtration stage, the media bed having a lower surface and an upper surface defining a filtration zone between the lower and upper media bed surfaces during the filtration stage. A diffuser trough is positioned in the filter housing such that (i) the lower surface of the media bed, when the filter is in the filtration stage, is below an upper edge of the diffuser trough, and (ii) the outflow aperture of the influent conduit is positioned sufficiently close to a surface of the diffuser trough such that influent flow, during the filtration stage, is initially directed against and/or along the surface of the diffuser trough, and then redirected in a path into the media bed. Finally, the media filter includes a backwashing mechanism causing (i) lowering of the upper surface of the media bed to a point below the upper edge of the diffuser trough, and (ii) creation of an air space in a substantial portion of the filtration zone.
Abstract:
A floating media filter including a filter housing having an influent inlet and an effluent outlet. A floating media is positioned in the housing and forms a static media bed when the filter is in a filtration stage. A diffuser trough is positioned in the filter housing such that the lower surface of the media bed, when the filter is in the filtration stage, is below the upper edge of the diffuser trough. A backwashing mechanism causes dispersion of the media bed during the backwashing stage.
Abstract:
A device for removing floating material from a liquid, especially from sewage, has at least one sieve element shaped like a filter basket, for example, that in a front side has an inlet opening through which liquid can flow into the interior of the sieve element. The device is equipped with a drive so the sieve element can rotate around a rotation axis. A collection device is arranged within the sieve element for collecting the liquid and/or floating material, in which case the collection device is attached to a pumping-out device for the liquid and/or the floating material. A process for removing floating material from a liquid, especially from sewage, uses a sieve device that contains at least one sieve element that may be shaped like a filter basket, for example, and is equipped with a drive so it can rotate around a rotating axis. Liquid and/or floating material is collected with the help of a collection device arranged within the sieve element for subsequent withdrawal from the collecting device with a pumping-out device.
Abstract:
A screening apparatus that includes a strainer element used for the purpose of retaining particulate while permitting the passage of a liquid through the strainer element, a support structure for the strainer element to enable rotation of the strainer element between opposed 180 degree positions, and a control member coupled with the strainer element for controlling the rotation of the strainer element. The strainer element, in both opposed positions thereof impedes any particulate while permitting the passage of a liquid. The control member is constructed so that, in a first state thereof, the rotation of the strainer element is periodically controlled to rotate the strainer element between said opposed 180 degree positions, and in a second state thereof, inhibits rotation of the strainer element.
Abstract:
A filtration system for collecting bone fragments during surgery performed on a patient includes a cylinder having a rotating disk with circumferential arms extending radially in the cylinder to define pockets. The rotating disk includes a longitudinal hub that carries an outlet connected to a central passageway formed in the disk. A plurality of apertures on the disk permit the liquid to flow into the passageway and through the outlet while the pockets retain the bone fragments. The disk is rotated to align circumferential spaced pockets to align with the inlet and outlet ports. The disks includes bearing surfaces that permit the rotation thereof and the arms are spaced from the cylinder inner surface to allow the flow of fluid in the event the pockets fill and clog the apertures and prevent flow into the outlet passage.
Abstract:
The present invention is a washing machine filter that is disposable and free floating in the washing machine. The filter of the present invention in the preferred embodiment is 2¼ inches by 2½ inches. The filter is comprised of a filtering material of the dimension described, which can be placed in the washing machine with the items to be washed. This free floating and disposable filter does not require attachment to any part of the washing machine and can be used in any type of machine whether front loading or top loading. The filter allows the water in the machine to pass through it thus removing any impurities in the water. Such impurities can include grease, dirt, or other items which would soil the clothing. An additional advantage of the present invention is the filtering material can also be comprised of or contain an odor eliminating filter.
