Abstract:
A friction material has a resin amount distribution that is the largest at a portion near a non-friction surface, that becomes lower toward an inside and that is the lowest at a portion near a friction surface. For example, such friction material is manufacture as follows. First, two friction materials are overlapped while the friction surfaces faced with each other. Then, the friction materials are dried at a room temperature. At this time, the resin has such a characteristic as to move while dragged by a solvent that dries from the non-friction surface located outside. Using such characteristic, the resin amount at the portion near the friction surface is lessened. Then, a temperature at the friction surface is made low and a temperature at the non-friction surface is made high in a drying step of the friction material. Thereby, the resin amount at the portion near the friction surface is lessened.
Abstract:
An industrial fabric used in the manufacture or processing of at least one material web includes a base fabric having a board side and a machine side. The base fabric includes a plurality of spirals extending in a cross machine direction (CMD). The spirals are interconnected together with each other along adjacent peripheral edges to form a spiral link fabric. The base fabric has opposite lateral side edges extending in a machine direction (MD). One or more electrostatic control yarns are positioned within a corresponding spiral and extend in the CMD direction to the lateral side edges. A pair of conductive edge coatings is applied to at least the board side of a respective lateral side edge for a predetermined width. The conductive edge coatings and the one or more electrostatic control yarns form an electrostatic grid. A traction coating covers substantially all of at least the board side of the base fabric, but does not cover the pair of conductive edge coatings. The traction coating has a coefficient of friction greater than approximately 2 on the board side. The industrial fabric has a completely non-marking seam because of its integral nature with the base fabric and the equal amount of traction coating at the seam compared with rest of the fabric.
Abstract:
A nonwoven fabric and disposable articles comprising the same are provided. The nonwoven fabric can include one or more facing layers thermally bonded to one or more inner layers. The facing layers are inelastic or partially elastic nonwoven webs comprising one or more propylene-based polymers. The facing layer has a permanent set above 30%. The inner layers are elastic nonwoven webs comprising one or more propylene-based polymers and one or more slip agents. The inner layer has a permanent set below 28%, and the one or more propylene-based polymers have (i) 60 wt % or more units derived from propylene, (ii) isotactically arranged propylene derived sequences, and (iii) a heat of fusion less than 45 J/g.
Abstract:
A substrate includes a fibrous material in the form of mineral wool of insulation type and/or glass fibers of reinforcement type, and a coating provided over at least a portion of a surface of the fibrous material, the coating having photocatalytic properties and including at least partially crystallized semiconductor material which has photocatalytic properties and which is of the oxide or sulphide type, and a bonding agent configured to adhere fibers of the fibrous material to each other, the bonding agent including an adhesion promoting agent configured to promote the adhesion of the coating to the fibrous material. The bonding agent is selected from one of an adhesive agent for mineral wool, a sizing agent for reinforcing threads, a bonding agent for a mat or web obtained from reinforcement threads, and an adhesive agent for a web obtained from glass wool.
Abstract:
The invention relates to slickened or siliconized flame resistant fiber blends that are well suited for use in mattresses, boxsprings, upholstered furniture, fiber-filled bed clothing, transportation seating or any end use application where a soft materials are desired for flame resistant (FR) purposes. Some of the fibers in the blend are slickened. The FR fibers incorporated into these blends include both char forming FR fibers and oxygen depleting FR fibers. FR char-forming fibers are those which exhibit little shrinkage when exposed to direct flame and are not spun from polymers manufactured with halogenated monomers. Oxygen depleting FR fibers are spun from polymers manufactured with halogenated monomers.
Abstract:
This invention refers to synthetic decorative coverings in order to cover and protect trafficable surfaces. More specifically, it refers to a novel structure and composition of a nonslip floor for heavy traffic and the process for the obtaining thereof; characterized in that it consists of a multilayer structure, consisting of a first upper layer, highly resistant to wear and tear, consisting of a solid, color calendared film with an upper surface and a lower surface, where the upper surface has engravings or embossed patterns; a second layer of high resilience, consisting of a colored, foamed calendared film with an upper surface and a lower surface, with the upper surface being thermoadhered to the lower surface of said first layer; a third layer of high adhesion to the surfaces whereupon it is placed, consisting of a mesh covered with foam, consisting of an upper surface and a lower surface, with the upper surface being joined to the lower surface of said second layer of high resilience by means of an adhesive. Said third layer of high adhesion defines an upper surface including open spaces that grip to the surface where it is placed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a particulate water absorbing agent for a thin type absorbing substrate suitable for actual use. A particulate water absorbing agent having irregularly pulverized shape, characterized by comprising, a surface crosslinked water-absorbing resin obtained by crosslinking polymerization of an unsaturated monomer with an acid group and/or salts thereof, which absorbing agent contains agglomerated particles therein and further satisfies (i) centrifuge retention capacity (CRC) in a physiological saline solution of not lower than 32 g/g, (ii) mass median particle size (D50) of 200 to 400 μm, and (iii) particles smaller than 600 μm and not smaller than 150 μm of 95 to 100% by weight. By using the particulate water absorbing agent, such absorbing articles can be obtained as have few rugged surface after water absorption, excellent liquid permeation property.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A polyolefin woven fabric extrusion coating with superior soft tactile characteristic is disclosed comprising ethylenic elastomer and thermoplastic vulcanizate. The combination performs in a synergistic fashion to obtain more pleasing soft tactile characteristic than is available with either elastomer or thermoplastic vulcanizate alone. The inclusion of additives may enhance properties and include plastomer, UV stabilizers, flame retardant, antiblock, colorant, printable additives and polar additives.
